- For Fry, either M or Q, though i'm leaning more towards casting him as Q.

- For Cumberbatch, I haven't seen him in anything, so I wouldn't know who to cast him as.

Ooooooh, top choice for a Bond film. Whilst he has masses of talent, I do not see him in the role of Bond himself. At present I am not sold.
However I could see him in a variety of roles.
Tanner in the Craig era.
Villiers in CR
Boris in GoldenEye.
Vlad in DAD
Elvis in QOS

I hope he one day turns up in a Bond film, either as an ally or a villain. Great young actor.

I can only think of Tatiana Romanova. :-)

When casting any of the actors / actresses above I should say, I am casting them only in roles or films in which they could conceivably appear. Therefore with the passing of Grace Kelly in 1982 it would rule out her appearance in a latter Bond film. But due to the fact she retired from acting in 1956, before the Bond series started a little 'what if' card can and obviously will be played.
After all that I could see her as...
Miss Taro in DN
Tania in FRWL
Tilly Masterson in GF
Pussy Galore in GF (Imagine how that one would've gone down?)
Domino in TB
Bit out there, but Tracy in OHMSS
And even Goodnight in TMWTGG.

Certainly was a very beautiful woman.

Vincent Price - Blofeld in DAF (Why not?)

Jane Fonda - Tiffany Case (Already suggested but fits perfectly here)

Stephen Fry - Q or R or whatever his name was in TWINE and DAD

Benedict Cumberbatch - Dominic Greene (No offense to Amalric but that would have spiced things up a bit)

Grace Kelly - Pussy Galore (Can you see it?)

She never read as 'naughty' to me but I could be mistaken. ;-)

I see Grace as maybe a Sylvia Trench or Miss Moneypenny.

Cumberbatch as Scaramanga

Grace Kelly? Miss Moneypenny or a smaller part like the girl in the flower shop in FYEO or a hotel receptionist, maybe Sylvia Trench.

Grace Kelly would have made a wonderful Domino in Thunderball. She has that innocent quality that Domino needs for the audience to really feel for her being held captive by Largo. Great pick Benny.

Forgotten her name now but its the character Molly Peters plays at Shrublands in Thunderball. The one Connery seduces in the steam room? Oooh that's gonna bug me now! Someone tell me who she played please? I have gone blank! @-)

Grace Kelly would make an ideal Tracy.

So lovely and cool and elegant. I never interpret her as sporty or naughty per se either.
I would have Grace mostly as:

1) Domino
2) Tatiana

I don't see her as Tracy unless she could pull off the stronger attitude, spunk, spark etc. that Diana Rigg gave the character. Because I think Tracy needs that.

And moving on:

A DOUBLE FEATURE!

7 - Drew Barrymore

Curshing would make an excellent Kronstein or possibly even Scaramange (he can never shake off Lee, can he? ;-))

Drew I would cast as the Danish teacher in TND. Small part, I know, but I think she could shine in it. Maybe Paris Carver?

I actually haven't seen Cushing in much, but I picture him as:

1) Stromberg
2) Scaramanga
3) Henderson

Drew - I love her! Where would I cast her? (aiming for a little bigger part then the "little" Danish):

1) Strawberry Fields
2) I got it - Moneypenny! With Pierce. Now that would be different. And cute, I think.

Peter Cushing, well he'd certainly fit in well in the Bond series.
A might find myself in hot water with this, and it would be hard to imagine anyone else in the role. But he could play Q.
Or possibly even M, but I'm not entirely sure he'd suit the role. Frederick Gray perhaps.
On the villainous side I can see him as...
Professor Dent, Kronsteen, possibly a Blofeld, Stromberg or Drax.

Then we have the lovely Drew Barrymore, I like @4EverBonded's idea of her as Moneypenny. Great minds think alike ;)
And I like Dimi's idea of her in the role of Paris Carver. I'll throw in Jinx and Strawberry Fields into the mix as well.
This is fast becoming my favourite bit of fun thread.

Jinx is a good idea. At least Drew might have made it fun. ;-)

Peter Cushing: Blofeld in Yolt and DAF

What if 3 chacters from TMND be written as woman, then Drew Barrymore as Hennie Gupta (Henry Gupta), Charlie Robinson (Charles Robinson) or Dr. Kaufman. Imagine if Drew return for Twine and we don't change as in the original when Charles said he go with Bond and Jones on the run how Chrismist jones comment. You get kind of LTK situtation at the end.

My head hurts trying to get around all of that ... not quite with you yet.
May be Drew could be Charlie Robinson. Ahhh ... I'm trying to visualize, I really am ...

Balje is a genius. He manages to see opportunities that not even the Bond producers themselves could dream up. ;-)

- Peter Cushing, I cast cast as M, Scaramanga or Drax.

- Drew Barrymore, I have never though of once as a potential Bond Girl and I don't know why. She was born in 1975, so I would cast her, not as Moneypenny but as a Bond Girl, in any film from DAD on.

Peter Cushing - Stromberg or Drax (I think that he could have provided a spark that many feel were lacking from these characters. I'm not sure he could have done Stromberg though as it might have interfered with Star Wars.)

Drew Barrymore - Christmas Jones (If Denise Richards can play a nuclear physicist than so can Drew. She probably would have been more fun too.)

I think Peter Cushing would be my Q! Just because of his brilliant portrayal of Dr Who. He could easily rattle off all that techno babble.

As for Drew Barrymore? I would have her as Pam Bouvier, because she can kick ass!

Drew Barrymore as Stacey in A View To A Kill may improve things somewhat.

Peter Cushing can play whoever the hell he wants.

James Bond maybe for Cushing? Or M. And with Barrymore my pants rise maybe Jinx or Christmas Jones or Stacy an American anyway.
