@hoppimike, nothing wrong with having GE as a Top Five choice!

No it's not that, I just wasn't sure if there were other films that might take those places or whatever (was trying to avoid having two films from the same series, even if it was Bond!).

Casino Royale and GoldenEye are VERY close for me but I think CR just about edges it. It's very close though :)

A whole lot more great films here. 'Heat' is definitely one of my favorites.

My fave movie is about a club I can not mention.

Also on the list for sure would be Forrest Gump. Not 100% sure about the rest of my list :)

Is that Club called Fi - nevermind.

I really loved 'Forrest Gump.' It was one of those films that took me forever to see, and I loved it when I finally managed to see it in high school. I've seen it quite a few times since then.

@baronsamedi76, that's the worst part about a Top 5: it's just so hard to choose some times. I always think I have a perfect list, then I totally recall another movie, and then another, and it just carries on from there. Either way, nice list. I haven't seen most of those in years - just a bunch more I would enjoy returning to, but I have a massive backlog as it is.
  • @Creasy
    Tell me about it!
I Really wanted to include The Warriors and John Carpenters The Thing, which I notice you have in your top 5. nice.

@baronsamedi76, absolutely. 'The Thing' is just one of those horror films that I feel can never be rivaled. Some of my other favorites (in terms of scares) are 'The Descent' and 'Insidious', but Carpenter's 'The Thing' contains it all: fear, paranoia, an eerie atmosphere, scares, wonderful characters, and mystery. I love it.

We're just about done for this night but will have another attempt at this, but they're in no particular order, just five favorite movies I hope I haven't mentioned before

    Raging Bull 1980

    Rear Window 1954

Broken Arrow 1950 (not that nonsense with Travolta and Slater)

    Brazil 1985

    Midnight Express 1978

    Goodnight

    Miracle on 34th Street

    Top Hat

To update, some films that would appear in such a list of favorites would be:

    Good Will Hunting

    Casablanca

    Zodiac

    The Dark Knight

    Spiderman 2

    In no particular order

    Jaws

    Raiders of The Lost Ark

    Alien

    Zodiac

    Chinatown

Quite difficult to nail down and I'd rather a top 10, can't say an all time favourite so another 5 to consider would be

    The Godfather Part 2

    Se7en

    Memento

Once Upon A Time In America

    The Exorcist

    JFK

Even those 10 were hard but if I'm nailing down a top 10 then that would be it at the moment although it could change.

'Se7en' is another brilliant film that I haven't seen it quite some time. It always teases me with that $10 blu-ray price everywhere I look, but I never pick it up.

And the day that you say to yourself "You know what, I am going to purchase that today" is the moment that it won't be there. That happens to me all the time, mostly with books but often with films. I see something that sparks my interest, yet I say "I'll pick it up next time." Little do I realize that the next time I am in the store the item in question will be gone. It is moments like that where I feel the world is against me.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, 100% correct, it happens to me all the time, as well. I said the same for 'Band of Brothers' when it was on sale on blu-ray for $35, and I kicked myself when I went to purchase it and found it back at its original price of $70-80. Luckily, I found it used the same night for only $45, and since it was in excellent condition, I picked it up immediately.

After seeing Lincoln twice, I have to make the following change:

    1-On her Majesty's Secret Service
    2-Lincoln
    3-Casino Royale
    4-City Lights
    5-The Lords of the Ring

Not bad. 'Lincoln' was a terrific film, but everyone else I've spoken with said it was either boring, or they fell asleep while watching it.

Interesting list, though Spiderman looks a little odd in it. Even if I like it, why do you have such high regard for it? (I'm not judging by the way. I'm only curious.)
