Wishmaster was a lot of fun!

Looking forward to the sequel too, which appears to be a funnier film. Don't know about the other two films, but maybe.

I love the first one. It's one of my favourite 90's horror film. #2 is nothing special. #3 is bad. #4 is beyond abysmal... my pick for the worst horror sequel ever. If you must see #2, ok, but don't go any further. Watch something else instead.

I'll take your advice and go for #2 alone. The prison scenes seem like a lot of fun, with Divoff grinning and staring at people like a nutcase. I'll try and check out a couple of scenes of the other two films just to see how bad they can get. Turns out Jason Connery is in #3!

#2 at least has Divoff, and at one point, so it has that going for it. Maybe the sequels aren't that bad... I just like the first film and the sequels don't measure up.

That moment you realise not only can he still do the Djinn voice, but also he doesn't need any audio trickery. Legacy sequel to the original film, when....? [-O<

Watched #2. Definitely not as good as the original: it lacks the steady pace, increasing intensity and properly sustained horror feel of the first one (there is a big stretch of the film without any true horror or even gore, which is broken up only with the casino massacre). The new characters are fine (I rather like the lead actress' performance) but not as interesting as in the original. For a more serious tone, Divoff should've played the Djinn in a more natural style, too.

And despite all that...... it's a lot of fun, certain slow and uneventful parts aside. It's a bit like going from Nightmare on Elm Street #1 to #6 in terms of tone, but Divoff, aiming for a more comedic take, makes it worth it. His silly grins, weird faces... I love it. Plus there's Tiny Lister Jr. ("BAM BAM!"), the lawyer who does you-know-what (with the guard staring at him nonchalantly!), the russian mobsters... good times.

Legacy sequel? Bring it along I say.

You just perfectly summed up my problem with #2. There's a little campiness in the first film, but it's countered with the violence.

Are you going to continue, or leave it at just the first two? I know that I recommended you only watch the first two, but now i'm curious to know your thoughts on #3 and...... #4.

    Is that your wish? >:)

I'm not that mean spirited. ;)

I have no plans to watch them at the moment. If I'm the mood for extreme badness (sometimes I am), I might take a look at them.

Wise. Though to be honest, I wouldn't even bother at all. #4 isn't even so bad it's good, it's just bad.

Very sad news to wake up to this morning. Lar Park Lincoln has passed away.

By far my absolute favourite Friday final girl, what I would have given to see Tina back for an official second round with Jason.

    RIP :(

Just watched Urban Legend. So much fun, especially all those twists and red herrings!

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
Impeccable film. That's all that needs to be said.

    Bordello of Blood
It's no Demon Knight, but I still had a good time. Dennis Miller is friggin' great. It would've been nice if his character had lost some more of his confidence after realizing what he was up against (while still cracking wise), but Miller is so magnetic and charismatic, and has such great lines, that who cares, frankly. I also feel the film beats around the bush and takes too long to get to the meaty parts, so to speak. Also, I wish they had explained a bit more about how the reverend decided to make money doing **that** of all things. Loved the ending, classic Tales from the Crypt (though they removed the title sequence from the show this time around, big mistake). And William Sadler's cameo was great too.

Good trailer, not quite as good as first one, and no Danny Boyle in the director's chair is a worry. Still, enjoyed the first one, so I will give it a chance!

I wrote Angel del Pozo some yrs ago , he died late March.....extremely rare autograph & I managed to find one
Those Horror Express costars are so htf , problem with Cushing is SW so his autograph commands a premium since SW is a major phenomenon , Telly & Chris Lee sgd a lot , however

In the first Olsen Gang comedy a golden Lorelei statue is shown , that is based on german folklore and Spain made a horror film called Loreleis Grasp based on that fairytale....its a bit graphic tho

Not at all what I was expecting but I really loved that teaser. Can't wait to see what else they're cooking up.

The month of Halloween's finally here, and with it, my seasonal excuse to watch as many horror films as I possibly can. I started off yesterday with:

Session 9, which was even more brilliant than I remembered it being. Probably one of the creepier and more unsettling genre films this side of the century, it's got a brilliant cast, a great sense of suffocating paranoia, and a lot of disquieting horror that doesn't have to lean on tired tropes or see-it-coming-a-mile-out jump scares for maximum effect. My only disappointment is now only having seen it twice. I'll have to change that in the future.

Also, The Faculty, one that's objectively weak in several ways but one that I simply have too much nostalgic connection to to hate. Plus, given it's been ages since I last saw it, I figured it wouldn't hold up too well, but no, it got a fine 3.5/5 stars from me. Lots of fun, with great practical effects when it wants to. Otherwise, way too much CGI throughout brings it down for me.

I'm watching and loving so far Alice, Sweet Alice today, and might watch something else afterward if I've got the time.

Good plan I need to put a horror film list together before I forget. I have not watched The Shining for some time so will start with that.

@Creasy47 I love The Faculty (1998) - it’s like The Thing (1982) meets Scream (1996)! I also will be binging horror as always.
