    The Carpenter sisters were a great addition to the series, in my opinion. Neve’s storyline feels played out. It’s nice to see her return, of course, but Sidney’s comebacks have felt increasingly forced since part three. Each time, the writers have to invent a new “reason” for Ghostface to target her or someone close to her. Unlike Laurie in Halloween, whose endless struggle with the Shape has an oddly satisfying “eternal stalker” dynamic (for a horror concept), Sidney just keeps facing a different copycat over and over. Meanwhile, the Carpenter sisters were only beginning their own story, and there are two of them. ;-)

    Yeah the Scream 7 trailer felt like it should have been Scream 4, I guess the writers were desperate to retain the interest of the audience after the departures. Apparently David Arquette is back??? maybe another force ghost ;))

    Regarding the surprising return of actors like Arquette and Lillard…
    I read a theory on Reddit that immediately made me think someone’s already cracked it. That being, AI of people from Sidney’s past will be used to psychologically torment her. Personally, I think it sounds lame and I’d prefer literal ghost Ghostfaces, but I totally see it playing out.
