I presume it'll be at Goodwood on the weekend, will have a look.

I don't mind the style of it, but the proportions look a bit off, as I think a lot of Bentleys do. It looks a little weedy on those wheels.

The grille looks like a cheese grater designed by Paco Rabanne.

    It looks hideous.

    It looks hideous.

In particular, since there is no need for a grille in a BEV in the first place. But just trying to keep a balanced view, even without my suggestions above it looks far less hideous than those "Jaguars" recently unveiled.

If these are the cars of the future, we're in for some very ugly times. Oh, the glory of the 50s and 60s...

I saw the new Renault 4 the other day, it’s extremely cool. The R5 already looks great, and I also saw one of the new Fiat Pandas too. Some very cool cars.
That Hyundai Santa Fe is very handsome too, apart from at the rear.

But don't you feel they all look a bit the same, square jawed semi SUVs or something. I don't know, I think all electric cars still look too big, too much like big boxes. And all this SUV mania. Us with the small sports cars, roadsters, ..., we now look like tiny things on the road next to these, don't we? ;) I take it you're a car guy, @mtm, didn't you once said you owned a BMW Z3 Coupe, and your father had a cobra? Am I mistaken? I usually have this sort of memory, stuff sticks, you know. Now these are cool cars, each on their own right. Compare those to this new stuff coming out. I mean, I do like some concepts, like the Mazda Iconic SP and MG Cyberster GTS, or the Polestar 6. What do you think of those?

In my opinion Bentley and Jaguar have taken a wrong turn design-wise. But there is hope, as other car makers show that designers are around that still make good looking cars - if allowed. Take Mercedes with their concept AMG GT XX.

It looks good, has classic lines and is not spaced-out at all.

Bentley and Jaguar used to be stylish, now both of them went for distinctively nouveau-riche design, which is a slap in the face of good taste. Sorry if I sound like an old man :))

    True, very true.

That's nice, I thought the recent BMW Speedtop looked great too

That rear actually looks a bit Brera, doesn’t it? Not a bad thing, that is. I like it.

I'll be there Saturday; it'll be pretty toasty! Just met a guy in the gym who'll be driving a Porsche 964 up the hill.

@j_w_pepper , I think @CommanderRoss means the picture of a Bentley Speed Six 'Le Mans Special', which actually seems to be a replica based on a 1934 RR. Google this and the license plate "MA 99 90". It looks like a 1930 Blower Bentley 4.5 that literary Bond drove in CR, LALD and MR.

Crikey, missed that. I had no idea, looked very genuine to me. But then again, I'm indeed far from trained in these things.

@mtm and @Ludovico thanks for posting that AMG and BMW. Both really nice looking cars! So it CAN still be done. The Bentley, to me, is just horriffic.
What I also don't like is this overt led stuff. Yes, it is nice you can put lights everywhere in all sorts of shapes, but it doesn't mean you actually have to do it. If you use it sparingly, it can be very stylish. That Bentley does not use them sparingly.

I'm driving an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante next week for work. Any questions? I will also potentially have access to Aston Martin's in-house performance and development drivers, and some execs. I will be asking Bond questions about First Light and Amazon.

Wil they built manual cars in the future? or is that all gone now?

    Have fun! (and post pictures!)

An entertaining infomercial for sure. BUt I don't believe her when she says this car is going to be fun on British b-roads. As far as I know the quality of the roads will just give you a very bumpy ride.

    I wouldn't drive a new car on a "British b-roads" or similar.

Not a fan of the red pin striping on the bottom on the cars. Anyone like them ?

Me neither, I also do not like that light blue on Hyundai's Ioniq "N" cars (both 5 and 6). Looks cheap to me. (Disclosure: I'm waiting for my regular Ioniq 5 - no "N", and not baby blue - to be delivered, so I like that car, and more than the Ioniq 6...hate the rear end, it makes the car look like a banana.)

I wouldn't buy a light blue car as well.

Do you know much about the ICCU failures that the korean cars have as i have read a bit about the problem some owners have had with them ?

I've seen owners comments on youtube and some websites but i don't know what percentage of cars have the problem.

I read about that too, but also that they had changed the supplier of the ICCU. Plus there have been extensive recalls ordered and executed, so I should very much think that Hyundai made some progress in the meantime, for instance when the Ioniq 5 was overhauled for MY 2025 (not just a facelift, but bigger batteries and other technical improvements). That being said, both our old BMW and almost 10-year old Jeep GC had two official recalls during their lifespan (the Jeep's high pressure fuel pump still to be replaced - we just got a notice a week ago). And I'd rather have a Korean car with some risk of that ICCU problem still existing than, for diverse reasons, a Chinese car. Or for one singular reason, a Tesla.

Saw so many cool things yesterday, the new Renault 5 supercar thing is amazing, wonderful Singers, all of the Supervans, the most stunning array of F1 cars I've ever seen (and seven F1 World Champions on the balcony!), my artwork massive on the side of one of the stands of a big car manufacturer(!)- also the Jaguar Type 00 concepts were on show and I must admit I thought they looked pretty brilliant in the metal.
