I wonder if there would be some unused Fleming that would work well as a PTS for Bond 26? Perhaps a variation of the short story FAVTAK?

The Spy Who Loved Me, the story at the motel shootout would really work as an introduction for the new Bond actor.

The only problem is aren't EON forbidden from adapting any of that story? I know they had to get permission to use the title

I think the title was always open for Eon's use, just not the content.

And maybe a flashback showing Bond losing his virginity and wallet in Paris? J/k but I'll bet Mendes would do it.

The question is are there any legal documents that clearly suggests so? Or just made through an oral agreement?
Because Fleming has been long dead, so the content is now open for use, heck even Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman are both dead too, so they could now use it.

Unless, there's a legal talks about it, that if EON use that story, IFP could file a case against them.
I don't think IFP would've really cared if EON use that story, times change, then so everything in Bond.

I think the next Bond has, at least for me, to take inspiration from Connery and Dalton.
A Bond that can be charismathic and ruthless at the same time.
  • I'm utterly convinced it's in the bag for Nolan. The timing is right and I'm sure he's got a couple of treatments ready. EoN/Amazon would be mad to let this opportunity go. He's even worked with AT-J.

I wouldn’t call it a guarantee. Because we saw what happened when they tried to bring in Danny Boyle and that didn’t work out.

But we’re not gonna learn about anything as long as these strikes persist.

Yeah, any recent news on that?… or prognostics of any sort? When do we think things will clear up? No indicator of some time stamp, no goal, no limit?

I think there'll be bits going on; similar to Skyfall. That was during Hollywood downtime. It's going to be Nolan.

Nothing is going to progress with the strikes going on, so I think fans really need to hold off on any expectations or anticipations when it comes to BOND 26.

I was referring to the actual strikes :)

With 2024 around the corner, my hope for Bond 26 in 2026 is feeling less likely.
  • Even with the strikes, there'll be a gentleman's agreement. I guarantee it's Nolan.

During a strike, any work with a writer (Nolan is a writer/director), is seen as scabbing and the penalty is heavy fines, @DoctorClatterhand … no discussions of any kind can take place. Same with the actors.

And no, there’s no end in sight.

A couple of weeks ago talks broke down with the writers again, and they haven’t been back to the table since.

As far as the actors? I believe the Studios haven’t had ONE conversation with them since they went on strike.

So, no, nothing is happening on any film that’s in development, unless it’s a legitimate independent feature (where financing came from anywhere BUT the studios).

(Trust me as I’m kinda in the middle of all of this)

    So he STRIKES!
    Like CHRIS... NO-LAN!
    Any Bond film he wants
    He'll get
    He will break
    Any strike
    Without regret

Well, look at the bright side, we'll have Bond 26 for the 65th anniversary.

Press: “So, Eon, what’s the progress with Bond 26?”

Eon: “There’s not going to be any progress as long as these strikes happen.”

Twitter: “UGH! Eon clearly hates Bond, they don’t want to make any more movies!”

Pretty much. I still imagine that they have a few ideas, at least.

I don’t doubt Purvis & Wade had some kind of draft in progress. But that’s accumulating dust as we speak.

How will Bond leave MI6 this time? They’re wondering🤓😂

Absolutely! No more resignations and no more fake deaths.

How about a very topical way...

M: Bond, 96 sexual harrassment complaints have been filed against you in the past year. 79 of them by Moneypenny! I'm sorry, but you're out.
Bond: Fine, but don't go calling me when some guy with a third nipple threatens to blow up Europe or something! (slams the door on his way out)

    Again, that's brilliant @mattjoes, my friend ;)

Here's a video I got from the TLD behind the scenes photographs thread. Just listen to the first seconds. So Nolan's favourite Bond film is OHMSS and his favourite actor is Timothy Dalton. I mean..., who wouldn't want this guy to direct Bond 26? And I do have my concerns about exoticism, pace and female characters. But really, the man has good taste.

Or code names, please. That one isn’t entirely on them, though.

Mostly due to this stolid fella.
