That 2008 Sony ad is still an all-timer Bond promo, where he's getting blown to shit.

Now, who wants to go back and figure out how many ads Roger Moore did as Bond in foreign countries for products I've never heard of?

I don't think he's in 007 Legends or Racing, and I'm curious of how many ads he did in character. Not all the Heineken ads were as 007, and even some of the Sony ones are dubious. Is he definitely Bond in the slo-mo explosion one?

For some reason I thought they did an updated Racing game, not the 2000 one, but maybe I'm misremembering. And I'm sure Sony certainly thought he was Bond in their ad. That was the intention, whether it was official or not, whatever that would look like.

I was about to ask if likenesses alone were enough to fulfil the criteria.

To not count his likeness is a ridiculous level of technicality, imo, but who cares.

I’m counting the ones where he’s turned up in person and given an acting performance.

Ladies and gentlemen for your consideration. I had to reconfirm Daniel Craig's Saturday Night Live appearances as Bond.

    SNL - 6 October 2012
Bond50 Bluray Collection skit, with extra Bond Girls and films. (Craig Bond in Hippopotopussy, 2010. Quantum of Leap, also 2010.)

    Bond Girls - SNL (2012: 3:12)

    SNL - 7 March 2020
With the opening monologue, Craig presents a "sneak peak" of NTTD in a wild casino scene.

I thought Knives Out was stronger but it was very refreshing having as much fun as I did with Glass Onion.

I just gave Girl With The Dragon Tattoo another go, which I haven't done possibly since the cinema (mostly because I remember the rape scene very hard going) and it remains so good; and Craig is perfect as Blomkvist- he just gets the rumpled, man of his age thing so right. The film just has this wonderful texture to it too; I want more of them. I'm so frustrated they didn't get to make any sequels to it.

So bizarre that it's not the only time on screen that Daniel Craig investigated Christopher Plummer's unconventional family in a murder mystery, either.

I've just realised that. Well done. Really, what a coincidence!

And yes, I also wish they'd done more continuation films.

I think it's the best performance by a Bond actor in a non-Bond film.

One of my biggest cinematic disappointments will always be Fincher not receiving the budget he deserved to continue along with at least a trilogy. They denied him but then decided jumping to the fourth book with an all new cast was somehow the most coherent idea, only for it to bomb and get destroyed by critics. Their loss.

Gosh there's a few candidates for that, not least anything Connery was doing in the 80s and 90s really(!), but yeah; it's certainly up there.

I still have not watched Girl with the Dragon Tattoo despite owning it for some time now, I need to make the time for that and Munich.

If you've never seen either of these, you should watch them ASAP. I considered Munich to be my favorite film for the longest time. I was actually just thinking a few minutes ago of how long it's been since I last saw it. I need to rewatch it sometime in the very, very near future.

I will put both Blurays next to my TV to ensure I watch them soon as I keep forgetting, I got about half an hour into Much previously.

It's good advice. Both films are tremendous and definitely show that DC has serious acting chops.

Daniel apparently wants to do more Star Wars.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/fdBsDZHKHHU?feature=share

He would obviously be able to pull off being a bounty hunter, Jedi master or imperial officer. But I’d rather see I’m in white lenses, tentacles and leather straps as one of Jabba’s sex slaves.
