    They do tend to hover around in the sky before returning to the MI6 Mothership. 🛸

    I absolutely believe there is life out there other than just our planet. There's a seemingly endless number of universes so it wouldn't make sense for Earth to be the only planet with sentient life.

    Whether that life has travelled truly unimaginable distances juat to see us is another matter of course. Why don't they just come and say "hello" if they're really out there and in our skies?

    Perhaps they have been talking to us, but we're not intelligent enough yet to understand ?

    There's only two people in the entire world with the training, experience, knowledge and understanding to hit the ground running on this job..."Mulder, it's me" "Scully, it's me ?" And they'll need the assistance of a certain Great Dane Scully and Mulder together: "Scuby-Do, where are you ?"

    I am a pretty skeptic and pragmatic person in most areas. I think it’s highly likely if not inevitable there is life somewhere in the universe. You only have to look at the diversity and volume of life on Earth to see that life here is incredibly resilient and adaptable

    However I think intelligent life is probably more rare. Of all the multi million species that have existed since the Cambrian period, only one has developed complex language, philosophy, science and made sense of its environment to flourish in ways that we have. If intelligent life is so rare on a planet with so many species over hundreds of millions of years, that should tell us that intelligent life is rare, and not an inevitable destination for evolution

    There’s another argument against ufos. In order to successfully develop the technology needed, any planets resources and environment would need to be stripped to the point of near extinction Were in that course on earth.

    That said - when I was a teenager at school my entire class witnessed a ufo sighting out of the window for about a minute. What it was I can’t explain - kind of like the ship from the flight of the navigator, flying in a way that wasn’t like an aeroplane. Very cool.

    Excellent post, @Matt007. The vastness of the universe suggests that advanced civilizations, though rare, should exist beyond our solar system. But before such a civilization can bridge the vast distances between worlds and arrive on planet Earth, enormous efforts must be made and two things make any success of such efforts "unlikely":

    1) despite its age, the universe may not have been in existence long enough for worlds to have developed the required technology;

    2) even assuming that the technology is already in existence, the odds that our planet, among an infinity of other words, has been chosen or even found, are next to nil.

    Now, if life has developed closer to home, in the Alpha Centauri system, for example, we may come closer to such meetings. Anyone interested in an exceptionally interesting story about that, should consider reading Cixin Liu's asimovian book trilogy commonly known as THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM.

    A comedian recently made the point, that given the amount of Billionaires on
    earth trying to get in to space. Could all the UFOs be simply Billionaires from
    other planets out for a joyride ? :D

    I remember watching this. The same caller called in years later (a decade maybe?) and claimed to have been doing a bit, which can also be found on Yt. The odd part about the video is the fact that the transmission was lost midway through the call.

    Did he claim it was all just acting then? It is odd that the transmission was lost like that, adding verisimilitude to the caller's claim that they would soon triangulate his position!

    IMO, in a practically infinitely large universe, it's infinitely likely that extra-terrestrials exists, and infinitely unlikely that we'll ever come in contact with them.

    UFOs, I believe in them, but purely for what they say they are on the tin; unidentified flying objects (read: not aliens).
