  The £200 million budget of Dark Phoenix is certainly not on the screen, the optimist in me is hoping they are hiding allot of the film.

  Me too but keep in mind that this movie had really massive reshoots. That's why the mammoth budget.

  I read one article that the reshoots only amounted to £10 million, though I suspect the figure may have been higher than that. I accidently learnt a big spoiler yesterday though I bet everyone else is aware of it already.

  They reshoot the entire final battle and made almost a new third act. Should be definitely higher.
  
  I also think they made some changes throughout the movie in order to make DP a fitting closure to the Fox series of the X-Men movies, since now everything is in Kevin Feige hands.

  It makes sense that they will perhaps end with some kind of goodbye replacing a finale that would be a relaunch of the series, though the series is such a mess with regards to continuity they can't really tie much together.

  Anyone else here who loves all ten movies? Seems to me that X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE and X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX are generally looked down upon. X-MEN: ACOPALYPSE too, come to think of it.
  
  The original trilogy is the one that is most consistent in tone (and it probably has the best cast overall), while the Wolverine movies and the last four X-Men movies all vary widely, which is something I also appreciate.

  I think Dark Phoenix will be the first time I skip out on the series. It was one of the very, very few remaining superhero properties that I still watched when a new installment released, but the trailer didn't impress me at all and the reviews make it sound like it's absolutely not worth checking out. Just looks like more of the same as everything else in the genre to me.

  I own all the films and will buy Dark Phoenix, even the poorer films have some watchability. Currently on a rewatch Xmen Last Stand is next, I suspect my opinion may be more favourable this time round.

  Trust me, your humour wasn't lost on me. Since that first trailer, the MCU actually released 7 films in theaters, and DC released 4 films (including Joker). I'm sure the trailer will be used to confirm New Mutants will go straight to the Disney+ streaming service.

  I remember a year when DP2, Phoenix and NM were all going to be playing in theatres. I thought it was bold, having three X-ish Men films in the same year. Well, it didn't happen. DP2 came first. Phoenix awaited its release until Summer 2019. NM? Yeah, in the year two thousand never.
