I'm really wondering if Marv looks so different because they got a new makeup team, or if it's because of all of those botched plastic surgery jobs...

Yeah, I see what you mean... It boggles my mind why people spend so much money on cosmetic surgery when they just end up looking worse than they did before once it's done.

Saw previews on "Sin City". My question is why are they using some of the characters from the first one? That movie was out about nine years ago (2005) and a lot of them died (Marv, Brannigan). This is obviously a prequel, and I don't think its necessary.
film still looks like a lot of fun though.

"Lucy" with Scarlett Johansen looks kinda cool. Might be worth giving a look see.

@OHMSS69, it's partly a prequel as well as a sequel, that's why. And you might want to spoiler-tag some of your post for those that want to enjoy the first film without having it ruined for them.

Mickey Rourke was actually a handsome guy back in the 80's and 90's. I'm not sure why he felt the need to go and wreck that with plastic surgery.

And yes, it is both indeed a prequel and a sequel.

Boxing. He changed professions and after his boxing days were over he thought he should repaire some of his injuries.

Interesting. Getting the right Drake is crucial. Who would you cast?

Off the top of my head, Nathan Fillion, Bradley Cooper, or Colin Farrell, based on looks. You?

Oh, Chris Pratt would be excellent. Completely forgot about him.

Bradley Cooper woud probably be high on my list as well because he can do the comedic timing well, has a Drakeish presence and sarcastic tone of voice. Nathan Fillion would be perfect if he was only younger, and I considered Pratt but after some deliberation I decided against it, plus he already has his hands full at the moment. It's going to be interesting to see just who gets cast in this as Nate, as well as who scores the Elena and Sully roles.

The important thing is to get a great actor. I wouldn't mind them getting an unknown who was talented AND who looked shockingly like Drake. Fingers crossed...

If an Uncharted film had to be made, I would rather they do a CGI film, using the recurring cast of the games for the mo-cap and voice work. The point of the games, are that we are in control, one near death experience after another. I don't see how that will work as a film, without being just another action film (not that i'm against action films, far from it).

Exactly. The games are playable action films already, so it's hard to believe that a live-action movie could live up to the level of thrills supplied so aptly by the games.

Ben Whishaw. The New Q replace Colin Firth as Paddington Bear.

    Paddington
Ben Whishaw ("Cloud Atlas," "Skyfall") is set to replace Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington Bear in the The Weinstein Company's upcoming live-action meets CG animated feature "Paddington".

Firth departed a month ago with the statement that the character "simply doesn't have my voice". The project is still on track for a Christmas Day release in the United States. [Source: The Daily Mail]

He could be a great fit for the character however I would have never expected him to be chosen.

Might as well. Either that or "Sequelville". Those seem to be the only two kinds of films they make anymore.

Has anyone seen this trailer for "The Imitation Game" with Benedict Cumberbatch? The beginning reminded me of the word association scene from "Skyfall" :P

P.S.: I hope I'm posting this in the correct place and not repeating a previous post!

@linglingqi, indeed it does, with Rory Kinnear himself taking part! What a fantastic cast and great cinematography. I didn't get around to watching the trailer yesterday, but I just did and it looks stellar.

EDIT: 'xXx 3' is confirmed and will shoot in Asia, says Vin Diesel:

Release dates for 'Sinister Six,' 'TASM3,' and 'Uncharted' have been announced:

    http://www.geeksofdoom.com/2014/07/23/twisted-twins-jen-sylvia-soska-direct-painkiller-jane-movie

I am excited to read read this news. Not only is it another Painkiller Jane film (I liked the 2005 film, for all it's limitations of a tv movie), but this one is going to be directed by Jen & Sylvia Soska. ^:)^ So this was the mystery project that they have not been able to talk about? I can't wait to see how they tackle a comic book movie.

I know that it is popular to hate on remakes but I have no thing against them.

Movies from the 60s, 70s and even 80s are out dated, so if the remakes are done right they are good

    - Figured I'll go ahead and post miscellaneous news bits from Comic-Con. Watching some live chat feeds on it.

The new Spongebob film will be called 'The Spongebob Squarepants Movie: Sponge Out Of Water 3D.' Here's some info and a photo on it:

"It looks like we'll get a bit of live-action in this one! The characters, at one point, travel to the "real" world as the superhero versions of themselves. The basic plot revolves around someone stealing the Krusty Krab recipe, sending Bikini Bottom into a MAD MAX-like post-apocalypse. Naturally, Spongebob and friends have to save the day."

    - 'Hot Tube Time Machine 2' has been unveiled at Comic-Con. Here's the red-band trailer for it:
    http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=121019

    - Matthew McConaughey made his first appearance at Comic-Con as a surprise, showing off an extended trailer to 'Interstellar.' It didn't contain any new footage from the film, just extra footage from real-world astronauts and astrophysicists. Christopher Nolan also appeared, saying that it rarely aligns well enough for him to visit, and he had to "see what all the fuss was about." His inspirations for the film were '2001: A Space Odyssey,' 'Blade Runner,' and 'Star Wars,' hoping to tell a "similarly ambitious story."

    - Another one is gone: Patrick Wilson has left 'Ant-Man':

They'll do well to match the emotional punch of the game.

I've never played the game, @WillyGalore, but I think it's interesting that the girl who plays Arya on 'Game of Thrones' will probably play Ellie, and my friend last night told me Nikolaj-Coster Waldau from the same show is rumored to play the lead male protagonist. The HD PS4 version of the game is out in a few days, and I'm itching to play it and see what all the fuss is about, but these latest movie sales have left me with no choice but to wait until I have more cash. Maybe I'll pick it up for Thanksgiving Break in a few months.

@Creasy47 I cannot recommend The Last Of Us enough. You really need to make it your next purchase when you can afford it. :-)

I technically CAN afford it, but I'll be staying off campus this fall so I'll be paying rent, and the way the paychecks work at my job, I won't start off with one for a good month. But, at the same time, if I get it Tuesday, I'll have a good two or three weeks to spend on it before I return. Decisions, decisions. Plus, my Thanksgiving Break will be consumed with family and 'Far Cry 4,' as well. If I had a bit more money or something to trade in towards it, I'd do it.

I usually use some kind of emotional blackmail towards my family to squeeze extra money out of them. ;-) :-bd
