I would settle for Bond 25, personally.

well, yeah! they better get on the move or they'll miss the Christmas '18 window.

Yes. Funko is finally doing it. But there are two schools of thought, and I respect both:

    1. If James Bond (the franchise) wants to stay relevant in today's entertainment marketplace, EON/Danjaq has to make moves like this, as well start becoming a presence at Comic Con. This might be why they are investigating a Bond universe (if rumors are true).

    2. Bond is Bond and neither the character nor the film franchise needs any of this POP! and Comic Con stuff to stay relevant.

With these out there, can we also expect a Happy Meal tie-in with Bond 25?

I thought Eon or whoever approved the licensing rights didn't go for things like this and tried to hold out for a different class of products. Or at least it used to be that way.

    Precisely BT3366.

Bond is not the same kind of audience as Star Wars and Marvel and if they did open have a stall at Comic Con it would be empty as it's a totally different demographic.

Bond is aimed at people who appreciate fine cars, watches, food, drink and women not crappy plastic figures.

I dread to think what Fleming would think of these staggeringly naff dolls.

Well, according to Bleeding Cool, Funko have been asking for 12 years. Which begs the question, why now? What's changed?

Exactly. I guess they want to squeeze a few more bucks out of merchandising with no films in the pipeline. Interesting that wasn't happening post LTK, pre GE when there was nothing to look for except updated VHS releases and fan club mags that I can recall.

Back when the Funko Pop figurines were first starting to take off, I got a Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, and I love them. My appeal was that they took these disturbed horror characters and made them adorable. I only like the villain ones now for that same reason.
(Although I'd be willing to make an exception for James Bond to guard my Bond 50 box set.)
It's disturbing to me that they actually make a Jinx figure, but not one for Honey who was the original article. Would anyone here want a Jinx anything anyway?

Apparently someone out there thinks she's a popular character, because there's also a Jinx Barbie doll. :/

@jackdagger, I now expect nothing less than to see Halle Berry herself holding one of the Jinx figures at a big release party at the Funko Pop offices, livestreamed the world over. There has to be some reason behind it! ;)

    A jinx figure you say...?

    3.jpg
  • @MajorDSmythe, now that's a damn good figurine. I don't collect them, but if I did, I would want Bond character figurines of that caliber. (Face is slightly off, but good enough for Tussaud's I'd say.)

So QoS one? Cool, I dig this! His hair/head looks weird kinda tbh, it doesn't give me Craig vibes but the suit/gun combo is great choice for a figurine

It's technically CR Craig, as QoS has him change his suit out of the blue.

True. DC never carried the rifle like that in QoS...only in the teasers. However, I do think he is wearing the same suit (at least colors) in the opening scene of QoS as the end of CR. It is dark blue with blue pinstripes, gray shirt, blue patterned tie.

There are color changes to each part of the suit, and the tailoring is very different on the whole, so the change is just jarring from a continuity perspective. If they'd put Bond in the vest he had on in CR to lead into QoS's opening, the disparity wouldn't be so immense.

He doesn't change his suit does he? I thought he just removed the waistcoat?

The suit and overall tailoring is different, as we go from a Brioni suit to a Tom Ford design, so yes, the suits are indeed different. The tie color also varies, as does how Bond wears it, and there are even visible shifts in the color of the overall blue suit that I don't think is down to lighting.

I think the two photos kind of bear out what I had said: the colors are basically the same. That said, I found the change in hairstyle to be more jarring than the suit.

A tux and a black suit can be the same color too, but does that make them the same exact suit?

(This really is trivial, so I'm leaving the discussion here)

Honestly the only Bond Funko Pop one I would want is him in his iconic grey suit from Goldfinger. The other ones look generic and Craig looks like a villain.

I'll be buying a few of those! Namely Connery (in the black suit), Blofeld, Odd Job (with the hat off), and Jaws.

    Jaws should be bigger.
