    Have these two worked on any past Bond films? If not, who are they replacing?

    Personally, I'm really excited for this, I've been reading articles and John Logan is appearently changing up the format, and with such a great film maker as Sam Mendes helming this, theres no way this will fail.

    A minor addition to the cast:

    According to a recent update on IMDB, Michael Lerman will be the first assistant director on Bond 23. Lerman also worked on QOS. Mendes doesn't have a regular first AD, so it makes sense that they hired someone who already worked on a Bond film before.

    Michael Lerman working at Law Abiding Citizen for 2009 who is edit by Tariq Anwar.

    Bruce Moriarty whas the first assistant director for Casino Royale, a first assistant directer where Campbell working earlier with and he also working on TCA 99.

    Sam Mendes don't workt earlier with Michael Lerman but Anwar does and Anwar working earlier with Mendes.

    Sorry, I mistyped. I meant to say Tariq Anwar, who has himself worked with Mendes. There's a connection between them.

    This may just be a case of someone having added Marber's name as he was wanted (and recently wrongly confirmed) as a Bond 23 writer. Logan was hired instead.

    Costume and Wardrobe Department
    Sanaz Missaghian .... costume coordinator

    Working for the last 3 Harry Potter movies. If needed there can ask her also for miniatures unit coordinator she did for AVP: Alien vs. Predator.

    For Casino Royale this whas done by Dita Valentinova (Possible she be hired for the scene in Czech studio's where there filming for CR, i based this on the fact she also work for Triple X and Van Helsing.) So mabey Sanaz is mabey hired for the Asian parts.

    I hope the next one is the second united directer. Because Bradley isn't confirmd for Bourne Legacy yet or any other 2012 movie.

    To be fair the 2nd UD follows the lead of the director and then the editor cuts the footage together in the style that he/she and the director have worked out. Bradley was also the 2nd UD of Indiana Jones 4, Spiderman 2, and Three Kings and those films have action scenes that don't look anything like what we saw in QoS.

    My preference would be Alexander Witt, but I'm guessing that directors largely prefer working with people with whom they have an established relationship.

    After searching madly for news on Dennis Gassner being the production designer for Bond 23 I came across this interview with art director Paul Inglis. It mentions in it:

    "Inglis is reacquainting himself with Agent 007 as he is currently working on the tentatively titled Bond 23 (2012) being helmed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty), lensed by Roger Deakins (True Grit) and production designed by Dennis Gassner (Bugsy)."

    There's also talk about Inglis' work on Quantum Of Solace.

    Also Anna Skrein (QOS/Die Another Day) be confirmd to return as art department coordinator. Paul Inglis is credit now also on the imdb page. Anwar his name is gone, be he whas already confirmd by Mendes and him self earlier he going to edit Bond 23.

    Yes it seems Inglis is back on board. I was hoping that wouldn't mean Gassner was necessarily. Whilst I loved lots of his design on QOS, Ms office and the control room at Mi6 was ridiculous. We're British, we don't have all that technology. Everyone knows we're a beauracracy beset by beauracracy and at best can only covet the things the Mission Impossible teams may have. I'm afraid that there are lots of things Bondian that I think can only be done by those with a very good understanding of British culture and society, and one of those is Design. So it would be great to see a British designer (there are loads of them who are brilliant) rather than Gassner. That said, I hope Gassner's can learn from that if he's given the nod again.

    With regards to 2nd Unit Director.. they predominately shoot the action sequences. They don't necessarily have established relationships with Directors. They have to work well with them, but if the Director hasn't shot that many action pictures, he may not have that much experience of it himself (this was certainly the case when Michael Apted shot TWINE). I think its more likely that Mendes and EON will jointly find someone they think will do a good job that they are both happy with. I'd be happy enough if that was Witt too.

    Deakins is one of the world's best Cinematographers and he is a fantastic addition to the crew (and follows in a history of Bond DOPs along the Freddie Young line).

    I'm interested in this announcement of Costume Designer. Until QOS, Lindy Hemming had been costume designer since Casino Royale. I haven't heard of this new person before, but I think there was an argument for a shake-up then. Not sure it was the right one, but the move of suits from Brioni (Lindy Hemming's choice) to Tom Ford was absolutely brilliant. The Tom Ford suits looked stunning and I certainly hope whoever is doing the costumes keeps them.

    AD jobs have almost no bearing on the look of a picture, they are all about the organisation of the crew on the ground. Of the main department heads, that just leaves the composer. I love David Arnold, but, as I've said before, I think a fresh approach could be hugely beneficial to Bond. We'll have to wait and see.

    Assistant art director confirmd. Andrew Bennett who working earlier for Harry Potter 3,4 5, The Golden Compass, Sherlock Holmes & Captain America. For the last 3 and Harry Potter 5 he whas a draughtsman (Somebody who making the art storyboards). For Potter 3 & 4 he whas the art department assistant.

    QOS have 3 Assistant art directors. Possible Andrew Bennett be replacement of Gavin Fitch who working on QOS as Assistant art directer and as draughtsman for The golden Compass together with Andrew Bennett. Gavin Fitch already have a movie in 2012, possible be not avaible.

    The other 2 Assistant art directors from QOS don't have any movie credit, so possible Sandra Phillips & Dean Clegg wil return.

    That's good. Hopefully this means that Bond 23's action sequences will be more like those in CR rather than the QoS ones.

    Thanks for the news, M_Balje! Even though the news comes from the cast and crew page from IMDB, I believe we can trust IMDB when it comes to less important crew members. I mean, why would anyone update the cast and crew page of CR with a fake second unit director? So as of now I would categorize the involvement Alexander Witt as a rumor, but a very strong rumor.

    I was hoping that Bond 23 won't have a second unit director at all (and Sam Mendes would shoot everything himself, like Christopher Nolan does it in his movies) but Alexander Witt is a great choice and much better than Dan Bradley who worked on QOS.

    Yes, I was very pleased to see Witt returning. The action scenes in CR had a great mix of shots that showed the "geography" of the scene (layout of location and characters' places in it), interesting framing and composition, and potent, visceral hits. Looking forward to more of the same.

    Having said that, I think that there are some good action sequences in QoS, it's just that at the beginning they were badly over-directed. Forster said in an interview that he wanted the audience to feel disoriented in the beginning so they felt like Bond, who himself didn't know what was going on (an idea that sounds good on paper or in a film-making guide but didn't work for QoS). However the fight with Slate was fantastic and the plane scene was far more exciting than it had any right to be. I also found the final fight to be properly epic and intense, which was a big surprise as it was between Bond and a guy who had nothing going for him other than the surprise of just going berserk. I place the blame for QoS's action scenes far more on the editor (under guidance from the director) than the second-unit director.

    I still maintain that I'd love to see a non-director's cut of QoS.

    I agree @thelordflasheart the editors really mucked that aspect of Quantum Of Solace up and Forster's guidance can't have helped much.

    Alexander Witt returning is much better than Dan Bradley so with editor Tariq Anwar and Roger Deakins Bond 23 should look good, very good. It seems EON do want to go back to a Casino Royale looking film but with added people for the new film.

    I'm feeling good about this, I really am.
