Personally, I thought Henry [Cavill] was the best chap for the job, but Michael [Wilson] and Barbara [Broccoli] were rather smitten by Daniel [Craig] and he turned out to be a very good choice. Of course, the studio wanted Garfield to be Bond because he played well with the Americans. Every time he ate some lasagna they busted up hysterically. Problem was we could never get him to get up off the damn couch to give a proper screen test. He was also a cat, so that put a damper on things somewhat.
The graphic designer reluctantly revealed his inspiration for
what became a primary advertising image of the 1999 film.
Orange cat not bad at all. I do feel as part of her personnel that I have to insist she is not bad at all. In fact, quite cute and friendly and deeply attached to her humans, but still somewhat disoriented and in need of some special attention. We love giving it to her. Doesn't mean I am shy of employing her for a game like this.
