Chases by water or air, there are so many great ones of those.

I'll go with Chases by Water or Air too. Probably not enough air chases to make it worth a game so better to do combined.

Despite the high number of minor-party candidates, it looks like Directors wins out. Anybody want to start the game? @StirredNotShaken?

I've PM'd @StirredNotShaken to let him know that the Directors game has been selected.
We'll await his feedback on what he wants to do.
I hope we include all the directors whether they did one or five. I've a pretty good guess as to who will go first though. We pretty much all agree on that one. ;)

@Benny I agree, but the funny thing is that the film that put him on the map, ONCE WERE WARRIORS, is still one of my favorites. I saw it twice at film festivals in the mid-90s, where I actually got to meet Tamahori at both, and was left in awe. I believe it is still the most revered and popular domestic film in the history of New Zealand cinema.

When I first heard that Tamhori was directing DAD I was really excited. Knowing his work on Once Were Warriors I had this genuine excitement as to what he would do with Bond. I'm sure I'm not alone on that. Really don't know what went wrong. But that's another topic.

Whoever proposed it. Will this be all director's, or do they have to have at least two under their belts. If it's the former should unfairly Hunt win if we average out each director's work.
It's something that we're all going to have to consider. OHMSS is spectacular but how highly should we rank Hunt with just one film to his credit? It's going to be interesting to see the results.

I have to hold back but I have to say this at least...

Why can't a director that has made only one Bond movie not win this contest??

Otherwise we can simply say in advance that Glen, Hamilton and Young will be the Top 3 as a rule.

Why dismiss Hunt, Spottiswoode, Apted, Forster or Tamahori in advance?
And we all know which 3 directors will be gone first anyway.

Let's keep this fair. I almost sabotaged the last game of the decades which was not very nice of me.
Don't do the same now with the directors.

Just let's get this started because I find it quite exciting to see which of the classic directors is going to win this.

Include them all of course. We didnt exclude Lazenby from the actors game, nor did we just include Hedison and Wright in the Leiter game.

Well I've PM'd @StirredNotShaken without reply. He hasn't been active since the 7th October.
In order to get a new game running, I'll start the directors one.

Sorry @StirredNotShaken I did PM you and link you to this thread so you would know that your game had been chosen. As you'd not been online for nearly a week, we're not to know when you might be back. Sorry again if this has caused any issue. As with any production the show must go on.
  • The titles game is winding down. I'm hesitant to start another game this close to Spectre, as it could very well affect our ratings. Shall we do video games?

Why don't we take a break for a month two?
You mean take some long overdue holiday?
Personaly I don't understand the sudden urge to immediately include Spectre in all these games. It seems odd to compare scenes or elements in a film you have just seen for the first time with similar elements from films we have rewatched and discussed for years, some of us even decades. Lets finish all these games without Spectre, let the new film sink in in the meantime, and then run them all over again when the time comes. In a few months time we are again faced with another traumatic wait for the next installment, Bond 25. The need for entertainment will certainly be there! :)

Spectre should nowhere be near such games for at least one year, or it'll win anyway each and every of it.

I'm all for a break. It isn't just the release of SPECTRE being nigh, but also these past few games, participation has been dwindling (from nausea?).
