It's seems that I'm the lowest ratings for Majesty's. For shame.

For me OHMSS be example for FYEO and Twine and FRWL follower. The movie is very slow pacing movie and you should be in the mood. Thanks to Music, locations, my second sometimes favorite Blofeld (The mistake i claim to Yolt), the suport cast and the humor the movie not turn in to another TB.

Again a movie who must learn to like and inspecialy because tracy is chacter who first not like. It whas easier to like Elektra. I not have feeling this will ever happen with Vesper, where there with to make a copy from Tracy. In same way Skyfall faild to Twine.

From the direction i give 0.5 point les for SE dvd, it be the only one from the first 19 SE's who we share with England only and also the only one without subtitels at all with bonus material.

If done right, i like the idea plot element of OHMSS wil be extented plot point for Bond 24 and Bond 25.

    Bond movie top 23: 6/23 - Bond movie top 10: 6/10

I know I'm going to regret asking this question, but what has Peter Hunt's direction got to do with the lack of material or subtitles on the SE DVD?

    Anyone?

    1. Direction - 7 (not half bad; the plot is fairly consistent and well maintained, minus the awful plot hole with Blofeld not recognizing Bond and the terribly boring middle section of Bond doing hardly anything productive)
    2. Screenplay - 6
    3. Script - 6 (some horrible lines from Lazenby will take this down)
    4. Plot - 10 (the only interesting factor in an otherwise snooze-worthy movie)
    5. Action - 8
    6. Main Villain - 9
    7. Main Bond Girl - 4 (not a favorite of mine; very overrated, in my opinion)
    8. Bond - 1 (nearly unforgivable)
    9. Sets - 8 (Piz Gloria is absolutely fantastic! The hotel/casino Bond stays in after the title sequence is also pretty neat as well; other than those two, which are basically the two main set pieces, there's not much else)
    10. Music - 2 (Always felt like this was way too overrated- frankly, I hate many of the tracks in the OHMSS soundtrack; the plus points here go to the main theme)
    11. Cinematography - 5 (the location work is also overrated, I think; except for Piz Gloria and the Alps on occasion, what's there to look at?)
    12. Fleming - N/A

    13. Supporting Cast - 3 (plus points go to Draco here)
    14. Main Titles - 5 (the main theme is actually really great, I will admit!)
    15. Plausibility - 5
    16. Pace - 0 (it's quite a chore to make it through this dreadfully boring, lengthy entry)
    17. Editing - 1 (some of the worst in the series; the plus point here goes to the ski chase, which is well executed)
    18. Tilt - 0 (never has been near and dear to my heart by any means)

Yep...cant forgive the PTS fight that is in the sea, and is not in the sea, and in the sea etc etc and other boo boos .
    I quite like that scene.

I remember seeing an online review in which someone put the Benny Hill music over the fight :))

The only thing I can't stand in that PTS is the last line. Makes me cringe everytime. It's just not funny and poorly delivered by George.
It was unnecessary and,as you say, poorly delivered.

Thank God things picked up from there.

Now then. Casino Royale has been at the top for quite some time. Can Majesty’s rival it?

    Casino Royale - 87.85%

    and

    On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - 88.33%

    By jingo it's done it.

Right, some stats - looking at the mean, the majotity of the users gave the film over 140, top being @ProfDentsSpider with 147, and the lowest being @00Beast, with 80. Boo! Hiss! ;-)

And now time for some actual discussion:

Is it higher/lower than your own ratings?

Personal % - 93ish. Community % - 88.33. Lower. Majesty's is only below From Russia With Love, so colour me happy.

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

This is such a sublime experience, from Hunt's direction to Rigg's Tracey, but I had to go the music. Exceptional.

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

    To be as expected.

Feel free to comment! Another Bond film coming soon...

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 88.33%
    Casino Royale - 87.85%
    GoldenEye - 78.94%
    Dr No- 78.7%
    The Living Daylights - 78.61%
    Thunderball - 77.47%
    Goldfinger - 77.23%
    Skyfall - 75.4%
    A View To A Kill - 72.22%
    Tomorrow Never Dies - 70.20%
    Moonraker - 67.4%
The Man With The Golden Gun - 61.33%
    Diamonds Are Forever - 56.05%

@royale65: You knew the lowest would be from me! ;)

Is it higher/lower than your own ratings?

About the same- utter dump; in the bottom feeder category of my list!

What is your favourite category/element/thing in the film?

Either the action sequences or Telly Savalas as Ernst Stavro Blofeld

What surprised you the most, while reading other peoples ratings?

The fact that the majority of people actually like this movie! I can't even fathom the idea of calling it anywhere near the best ~X(
