    This is more about what is underrated in relation to the general public rather than on here:
    Most Underrated Bond Film: OHMSS
    Most Underrated Title Track: All Time High (OP)
    Most Underrated Title Credits: MR
    Most Underrated PTS: TLD
    Most Underrated Score: GE (ok not all of it works but what does is excellent IMO)
    Most Underrated Villain: Franz Sanchez
    Most Underrated Ally: Pushkin (TLD)
    Most Underrated Bond Girl: Wai Lin (TND)
    Most Underrated Minor Character: Morton Slumber (DAF)
    Most Underrated Henchman: Dario (LTK)

    I don't find OHMSS is underrated amongst the public anymore, it's always rated very highly. It's Lazenby who continues to be underrated.

    Agreed. If this site did a henchman tournament Dario would easily finish in the top five.

    Hmm that's a good point. I do remember in 2002 (yep that long ago) here in the uk there was a programme in which the public voted for their best moments in Bond. Tracy's death was featured (sadly nothing in Daltons films were).

    Even so I still think it maybe doesn't QUITE get the respect it deserves. It's still seen a bit as "the film with the bloke who only made one". I'd say GF, GE, CR etc are all more likely to still be considered general favourites.

    But you might have a different experience.

    I think the lowest I've seen it in a public poll or a ranking list done by some bad mainstream magazine is 6 or 7 in the past five years. Usually it makes 3rd I find.

    And is Columbo really underrated? Seems to me he's pretty highly regarded. Personally, I think he's the best henchman, period.

    Columbo and Topol are both seen pretty unanimously as a highlight of the series. Very inspired casting.

    Ahh, I probably should put Paula under "ally" rather than "minor character", shouldn't I? Sorry Sharkey! "Hey you can't do this to me!" haha

    Hawker is awesome. He's so unnecessary to the film - I kinda feel the golf game is the first of many missteps of the movie tbh - but that actor who plays him is brilliant. I'm trying to think of a better minor character and am coming up empty. So not only is Hawker very underrated, he's quite possibly the best.

    I agree. I enjoyed his by-play with Connery Bond very much. We need more of these minor characters in the Craig era of modern Bonds.

    I don't think anything in GE can really be called underrated except the score. My opinion at least.

    Hardly anyone likes the GE score enough for it to be given strong consideration as underrated, let alone overrated, even Serra says himself it isn't appropriate for a Bond film. If only for hindsight. I know he could have much improved this.

    The truly most underrated score for me is a tossup between TMWTGG and CR. It seems a lot people appreciate Arnold's clear progress in QOS, but too many people react to Arnold's ill advised 13 minute "Miami International" and lack of Bond theme (done by design not ignorance) and overlook a lot of other great things going on. And Gun gets lots of abuse for a title song that yields some wonderful instrumentals that work beautifully in both action and romance motifs.

    I always thought Koskov was badly written, but perfectly cast. With a better written role, he could have been Dalton's Blofeld, i.e. a recurring adversary. In a way, it was the production that "underrated" him, if that makes sense.

    I can pretty much go along with that. Krabbe is a heck of an actor, but Koskov is a bit too loveable to be a really good Bond villain.

    He was made like too much of a buffoon and lacked menace, especially at the beginning. Granted, he was trying to pass as a new ally, but he could have had more gravitas.
