    Pepper has always been one of those standout characters that I didn't like at all, but I've warmed to him lately the more I see his two appearances. At this point, I really like him in LALD, and seeing him so giddy to go on a secret mission with Bond in TMWTGG is rich.

    Thanks for the feedback, though I know it could've been more brutal because some of my rankings differed from the general concensus, like having FYEO higher and LALD lower, not having Dalton's films higher, and having Moonraker higher than "normal". I tried to balance objectivity with personal views. I guess I could say some I ranked higher even though they have weak moments (FYEO's Bibi Dahl, Margaret Thatcher) because the film as a whole works for me. About Moonraker, yes there's the space laser battle, but at least it goes into space (I like sci-fi); Drax works as a villain for me; the global threat; the scene in the centrifuge chamber; and the luscious Holly Goodhead and Corinne Dufour. On the other hand, LALD has never been a fave of mine, even though it has several great scenes and I'll watch it if it's on TV. It's been too long since I've seen License to Kill, so my opinion could rise after watching it again--I did like Dalton...I just think he probably didn't get the best Bond stories to make, and some are very hard to beat. And I've seen SPECTRE only once, in the theater, so that might move a notch or two higher on my list.

    Bibi and Thatcher are both essential to FYEO and partly why I like it so much.

    I have been seeing "The Spy Who Loved" me in cinema in 4K Ultra-HD, thanks to @ggl007 (fanclub Archivo 007). What a wonderful experience it was. But........I have to be honest here. The film hasn't aged very well. Roger Moore is off course a marvellous, more suave and funny Bond. But at times the dialogue was way too tame, too simple....and actually quite boring at times.

    There were some highlights with regard to drama and personal background. Like that little moment in the Mujabe Club when Anya tells Bond he was married. Or when Anya swears to kill Bond after Bond reveals he killed her loved one. Quite tense scenes, but very scarce in amount.

    I personally think if "The Spy Who Loved Me" would be copy-pasted and if Bond was made much more simpler and less complicated, then people won't buy it anymore. One last thing, people really criticised the plot from the villain in "SPECTRE". But by jolly, creating an underwater world by destroying the worl with two atomic bombs is way way more ludicrous/ridiculous.

    Having said that, my updated ranking:

    Masterpieces!!!:
    01 --> 9.5/10 --> 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'
    02 --> 9.3/10 --> 'From Russia With Love'
    03 --> 9.0/10 --> 'Skyfall'
    04 --> 8.8/10 --> 'Casino Royale'
    05 --> 8.3/10 --> 'Thunderball'
    06 --> 8.0/10 --> 'Doctor No'

    Good films!:
    07 --> 7.7/10 --> 'SPECTRE' (NEW !!)
    08 --> 7.4/10 --> 'Octopussy'
    09 --> 7.4/10 --> 'For Your Eyes Only'
    10 --> 7.3/10 --> 'The Living Daylights'
    11 --> 7.1/10 --> 'Goldfinger'
    12 --> 7.0/10 --> 'Licence To Kill'

    Average films:
    13 --> 6.7/10 --> 'The World Is Not Enough'
    14 --> 6.5/10 --> 'The Man With The Golden Gun'
    15 --> 6.3/10 --> 'Quantum Of Solace'
    16 --> 6.1/10 --> 'The Spy Who Loved Me'
    17 --> 6.0/10 --> 'Diamonds Are Forever'
    18 --> 5.8/10 --> 'Moonraker'

    Fun stuff for us Bond fans, but as a standalone film bad and sometimes even stomach-turning!:
    19 --> 5.6/10 --> 'Live And Let Die'
    20 --> 5.5/10 --> 'Never Say Never Again' (non-EON)
    21 --> 4.8/10 --> 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
    22 --> 4.5/10 --> 'You Only Live Twice'
    23 --> 4.2/10 --> 'GoldenEye'
    24 --> 3.4/10 --> 'A View To A Kill'
    25 --> 2.8/10 --> 'Die Another Day'
    26 --> 1.2/10 --> 'Casino Royale' (non-EON)

    Thanks @Thunderfinger ;-). And to be honest, I'm not willing to change my ranking anytime soon. I carefully ranked them, and in many ways I also ranked them as "Best Films" without taking into account the Bond franchise tag. Judging them that way, you actually find that a minority of Bond films are good to very good films. But a bigger majority, as a film, simply is under par.

    Most are b- movies, agreed. Brosnan films c-movies.

    You may not like them but they are not "B" or "C" movies. They are big budget, A productions. B means low budget, made for direct-to-video release. It used to ,mean it was made as a drive-in second feature.

    Matter of opinion. Though looking at the budgets, they are A-movies. But even then quality-wise some come across as B-movies or even C-movies. AVTAK would not have managed it to be a mild box office hit back in 1985 if the Bond tag was removed.

    I've never felt that any Bond film (including DAF) was a 'B' film, but then Bond is my favourite franchise. Even my least favourite Bond film by far (TWINE) is not a 'B' production imho. The 80's films were on a tighter budget rein in comparison to the late 70's and the 90's and it showed, but they were still lavish productions for their time.

    Not opinion. That is the definition of an A picture versus a B picture. Industry terms.

    But I do agree that there was a cheapness to the production of the '80s Bond films, regardless. The Brosnan Era looked so sharp and grand in comparison (and I say this as someone critical of that era).

    Still, a majority of the Bond films "feel" as cheap B-films. Only Bond films like TMWTGG could get away with a cheesy scored karate fight of two girls destroying a whole army of Hai Fat fighters.....then followed by an even cheesier final 'push' on the head of one of those Hai Fat fighters by.....Roger Moore. If TMWTGG wasn't a Bond film, it would have been an even more disastrous financial flop.

    A majority of people would disagree with this statement. A few Bond films can be seen as 'cheap', but not the majority. And the fact you put GE and TSWLM in the 'cheap' category is where your opinion seems ridiculous, as those 2 films are 2 of the most widely popular Bond films in the series, even outside of the Bond fandom.

    Even DAF and TMWTGG, where the budget was reduced or shooting schedule tightened/rushed, are still not B movies and not cheap. There are still relatively big budget movies.

    DAF spent £1.25m just on one actor (probably not counting a % on top) - that's not a low budget movie.

    Even LTK where cost cutting measures were put in place still was quite a big spend.

    They may have had big budgets, doesn't necessarily mean that it translates to the screen

    Still doesn't make them cheap B movies.

    @w2bond, just because some of the movies have a particular moment or two of questionable or poor CG doesn't make them B-movies whatsoever.

    @Gustav_Graves, I like the spots for OHMSS, FRWL, DN, CR, and FYEO, but I definitely wouldn't have LALD, TSWLM, or QoS that low. I also wouldn't have SP anywhere near that high, and definitely wouldn't dream of putting SF in anything but the Bottom 3.
