Not the voice cast I would have wanted (This should have been Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil’s final performance along with most of the animated series cast)

But still excited to get this

I agree, @Risico007. Then again, this cast is somewhat more in keeping with the DC Animated Movie Universe in which Hush is set. So in that sense, it's actually normal for the likes of O'Mara and others to be involved.

But who knows, they may have something else in store for us in the near future. I thought I'd read somewhere that both Hamil and Conroy continue to tease a return to the animated universe.

Would love to see Dr Tzin-Tzin in a movie.

I'm not really into the Bat much these days but I'd love to see the original 160 minute cut of Batman Forever. From what I've seen, it would have given the film some much needed darkness like the Burton films.

I could have done with the 16 minute version.

I'll be honest I gave up on Gotham early in the first season I felt the whole premise to be stupid, I may watch the conclusion out of curiosity as Batman is actually in it now.

I got hooked early on and have watched every season after the first one. I really like the cast and the mix of dark and comic book tones. The villains, especially the penguin, riddler, Hugo Strange and Jerome/ Jeremiah (the show's Joker) are among my favorites.

I may binge watch all five seasons at some point I think the first 3 or 4 are on Netflix, the tone of the first season put me off and there are so many shows to watch these days, if I lose momentum with a show I tend to not bother trying to keep up. Unfortunately the same thing happened with Netflix Marvel shows also though again I'll probably binge watch the seasons I have not seen some day.

Yes. There is a new Batman movie. The sequel to The Dark Knight. Called "The Dark Knight Rises". Batman is a comic book character published in Detective Comics for the past 62 years. Several films, television series, cartoons, video games and other material have also elaborated on his adventures. Up to date? Great. Because this is my last regular post on this sorry excuse for a once great forum when I have to deal with questions like "is there someone that will explain me about what is this???" This is exactly the kind of low-grade, sub-elementary school content the new format encourages. Goodbye.

Actually, it's 80 years. Batman's 80th celebration started last week. But I really don't like any of those rubber suit movies. Give me Adam West and Burt Ward anyday! POW!!

Don't know why they just didn't make a Batman series and have done with it. Surely that's what everybody wanted. 5 seasons before Batman turns up????

Not sure about the make up and Phoenix joker may take away some of the buzz, I recently learnt there has been more than one Joker in the show?

I think they tried to copy what Smallville did, though Smallville worked as Clark was older and it was fun seeing him learn about his powers. Gotham from the start made little sense to me, I'll probably binge watch it one day or just read up on the key episodes to watch.

Warner Bros Film and TV departments are split and are really seen as seperate entities without much interaction between the two. This is why Clark was never allowed to wear the Superman suit in Smallville and why they can only use Batman briefly in the final episode of Gotham. The film department want to maintain the cinematic appetite for these characters, which means that the TV side need to jump through hoops to use these characters and not step on anyone's toes.

Thanks @TR007, that makes sense. Did wonder why when you've got the rights to these characters why not use them.

Yes, brothers actually. One was crazy from the get go and the other gradually went crazy after beig gassed by a gift jack in a box left by his now deceaded brother. Basically the first brother has been Gotham's joker, with many of the plots taken from the comics. Like him getting his face surgically removed and sewing it back on when he 'wakes up'.

One of the stupid comic bookey stuff in the series is how many people have died and then have been brought back to life.

Either way, Gotham has been my favorite live action dc show from these past few years. I like The Flash and Supergirl, but the Batman mythos remains my favorite and the show has captured the darker tones of the said mythos.

I remember the No tights No flights rule from Smallville, in some episodes they worked round him flying if he turned evil or was Bizarro, and when Clark jumped it really looked like he flew sometimes.

If you recall they could never use the proper Superman ‘S’ logo until season 6. Prior to that they had a Kryptonian symbol that looked like an 8 rather than an S.

That’s because WB film department were developing several Superman movies during the early years of Smallville (Wolfgang Peterson’s Batman vs Superman and McG’s Flyby) but when Singer came on to direct Superman Returns he allowed the show to use certain things such as the Superman logo as he didn’t believe it clashed with his feature film.

Similarly the Joker in Gotham can’t be called Joker due to the upcoming Phoenix movie.

True, though that post was made way back in March 2011 in case it isn't clear. I know it still doesn't add up though.

I sometimes work nights i'll download Gotham to my tablet from Netflix it will give me something to watch, ill give the show another go.

Unfortunately the CW shows have dipped in quality recently, Flash is getting a new showrunner I think so hopefully that will breath new life into it.

I fell into the same steelbook craze, as well, had to repurchase a few of the Bond films for that reason alone! I think I have the steelbooks for FYEO, CR and QoS, though FYEO arrived completely smashed and bent in, unfortunately.
