Personally I'd like to see a scene similar to that of Gold finger on the Swiss Alps. Saying that I think it would be best if he took the DB9, the ideal Grand Tourer. That's my view anyway. The one-77 is a wee bit too much for a spy lol

Make it the new Esprit and you've got Craig's perfect entry for his first snow-Bond.

though some might say it's not that different from any of the other Astons, it is just achingly beautiful...

I'd love to see a return of the Lotus Esprit. The Aston doesn't look bad either though.

I think the Lotus as a whole suits Craig's bond perfectly. a very bold, functional machine determined to achieve its goals.
Then again, like Craig's portrayal in Skyfall, the Aston suits him as well, the new Vanquish is very stylish, yet it has a refined rage to it once you get behind the wheel.

EDIT: Never mind the evora, just saw this:

That looks astonishing. I can easily picture Craig driving this from the Casino car-park in Monte Carlo to the italian alps.

If Aston Martin are to continue to supply JB with his steed then the New Vanquish is the car to place our hero in as it is the modern re-inCARnation (sorry for the pun) of the DBS from CR and QoS.

Jaguar is a very nice idea, but for some reason does not quite sit comfortably with me. "The Jag that follows the Aston is generally a better car" and cheaper, but that is just the point, it is cheaper and everything about James Bond is to do with aspiration. His clothes, his watch, his lifestyle and sadly for Jaguar it does not quite make the mark.

Let us make no mistake here though. Without the halo effect of James Bond, Aston Martin might never have survived. Therefore it is even more correct that it is Aston Martin that "saves" James Bond on celluloid.

As for Lotus, great but fragile - not so british bulldog, more british stick insect! However, I like the re-styling with the ski's above.

Now if we are talking about interesting cars he could use on film then the list is endless. Jaguar could be a car he "borrows". Land Rover has done well in recent years with defenders, and Range Rovers - perhaps a Range Rover Sport, unless it belongs to a baddy in which case it will be a Mercedes GL or similar. Mini's are always good for a car chase (see Italian Jobs) in tight circumstances but then that has been done before. If you are going to have a chase then it needs to be original and as such so do the cars.

We will have to wait I suspect to just before fiming begins to think of the models available as manufacturers change specs so regularly something better is always around the corner.

After my initial reaction of 'oh, Bond's driving an Aston again, how refreshing...', my excitement is slowly setting back in. I like the look of the latest(?) Rapide- it looks a bit sleeker and less muscly than the Vantage.

Perhaps but the Rapide is a 4 seater, and that's too much for Bond imo. As withe the BMW 7 series, it's just not the playboy kind of car. I'd stick with the Vanquish, it's new enough. Might even be the volante...

Oh, okay. I don't know much about the specs of the cars, but you're right- there's no need for the extra seats and weight.

It'll certainly be fun to speculate which car it is, as the film draws nearer.
  • Stop press the car he has to drive, omg look at this inspired, beautiful Aston....omg seriously omg omg omg

Producers too tight in with Aston Martin but poorly made...sloppy trim. AM in the red I heard for some dumb reason I've heard so sure they are relying on Bond to save 'em. ic

So doubt my choice of a Bentley Conty GT Supersports is just totally out of the question. I mean the DB5 Bond won and got souped up surely had insurance so he could replace with a new understated supercar??

DC would look very cool in that Lotus. I think it would really suit his style. Can see him in some retro 70s style skiing gear.
  • For product placements, any British name plate should be in a Bond movie. Mini Cooper, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, LandRover, Bentley, Vauxhall, English Ford,Morgan , Lotus n Also Aston Martin (3 models; convertible, 2 door n 4 door ). However some of these name plates are owned by other countries than British.

The Mclaren P1. Yes, it's quite a flashy supercar (I might even call it a Hypercar) for a secret agent, but it proves British cars are the best! The look on Jeremy Clarkson face when he drove that car on Top Gear just proves this car is borderlining on perfection. I saw a video of Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button drive it at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the car made him look ultra-cool. With his sunglasses and focused expression while driving it I was almost expecting him to get out of his car and punch some bad guys! Yes the Aston is THE Bond car, and it's insanely cool, but I think Bond in the P1 would be quite iconic too.

I think the F type is a lovely car. Any one know how it's doing in terms of sales? I don't think I've seen many on the road in the UK. I was hoping it would be a huge hit, but the Jag brand seems to have long-standing issues that it's not been able to shift.
