    All right.

Fleming tried to bankrupt an Abwehr officer during the war, in a cardgame. It was Fleming who lost, but the episode inspired CR.

The casino where this happened is seen in a Bond film. Which one?

Google makes it easy, I'm afraid. But I'd rather not let it be my turn again right now.

OK, @Tokoloshe, @BMW_with_missiles, the movie is indeed FRWL. Those two scenes (actually I found there are three, the first being when Tanya leaves the embassy with her colleagues before meeting Klebb) take place in the large street outside the "Soviet embassy". In this video at about 0:30, you see Bond walking to the embassy after leaving the taxi. On the right, there's the BP sign, and on the left, there is something looking like a circle with wings. The Youtube video is of bad quality. On the Blu-ray, one can clearly see that the sign shows a stylised G and the surrounding circle says Glas Automobile: glaslogovxup4.jpg
(This was copied from the Tanya scene mentioned by way of the Snipping Tool.)
Hans Glas GmbH, a former maker of agricultural machinery in Dingolfing, Bavaria, turned car producer, was best known for the tiny "Goggomobil" but later produced some really well designed "real" cars (check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glas). However, Glas was ultimately purchased by BMW in 1966, who is still using the Dingolfing plant today.

I found it funny that we have a long-gone German carmaker in a sort of product placement in the film, especially considering it's an Istanbul street. And it took me until I had Blu-ray to find out.

OK, just to keep this going: The answer is OHMSS, the casino being Casino Estoril, west of Lissabon, where Fleming played cards with double agent Dusko Popov, code named TRICYCLE. The casino is in the same complex as the Hotel Palácio Estoril where Bond checks in after saving Tracy...and of course they also spend time at the casino.

@j_w_pepper, you are right of course. A friend of Fleming later said that he had exaggerated the whole affair, and that it was no Abwehr officer, but just a Portuguese business couple. Who knows?

    Very well. Here's another:

The name "Kirk B." should be very well known to every Bond fan, as it appears in a sort of prominent location within the series. (It is also in connection with a lovely red convertible.)

Who or what is "Kirk B."? And what does Canada have to do with it?

Just to keep things straight...I'm now wondering if the car is really a convertible. It may be a coupe or so that through its large windows lets in a lot of light to make it appear like a convertible. Which also tells you you see it from the front...and that it isn't the GoldenEye Ferrari. But everything else still applies.

Nope. Plus, who would be Kirk B. in TB?

A silly thought but its not from TB ,as in the Canadian officer who Bond was assigned to ,before he changed to Nassau with M,after the 00's briefings ?

Didn't Fiona drive a red coupe when she picked Bond up from the beach to go to the hotel ?

No, it was blue. And I admit I'm stumped by the question.

Let me say it's most likely a case that would also fit into the "I Never Noticed This Before" thread... The name is definitely there, for everyone to notice.

OK, here's another hint: The "prominent location" is actually two-fold. Geographically for its considerable connection with the series and its author. And also for its extraordinary position in the movie franchise...as opposed to being, say, part of the 8th scene of the 13th movie or so (this is an example only!!!).

Well we have to be looking at Jamaica, thats the best connection to Fleming and Bond ?

But the 13th film is AVTAK,so we are looking at the US by the 8th scene.....

    Golden Gate Bridge ?

@barryt007, please read my last hint again. "The 8th scene of the the 13th movie or so" is just a random example to show what it is not. "An example only" - three exclamation points. So I don't think you're getting anywhere with AVTAK.
