Happy 27th anniversary to Goldeneye 007! Still a classic that's worth replaying, all these years later.

It’ll always be a very fun game. I have mixed feelings about the solo campaign, but the multiplayer is legendary for obvious reasons, and the soundtrack is phenomenal.

Yes, the campaign hasn't aged the best, but I do consider it better than the movie. The only other four games that I think are better than the original movie counterpart: The World is not Enough (N64 version), Spider-Man 1 & 2, and King Kong 2005. Goldeneye 007 is still a rare game that I know I made the right choice in buying it, and not selling off my N64.

This game introduced me to Bond, and it’s my favorite of all time, actually, along with Super Mario 64.

I'm happy to say that I played those both in the last week. Timeless treasures that I won't give up! TWINE, the Mario Party trilogy and Banjo Kazooie just some of the video games on the N64 that I won't sell!

How’s this for a random bit of Bond merch?

Awesome. The influence of GE N64 is still felt close to 30 years later. Congratulations to the team behind this timeless classic! Still enjoy beating Trevelyan on the Cradle years later.

Congrats to GE64, the love is strong in this household. Should've definitely been in the hall of fame before Wii Sports? Looking back on the memories of first playing this game followed by the numerous times returning to it over the decades, through to having my own mini museum of GE64 gear and holding the props in my hands. What a journey. The author claims the N64 as a 'relatively unpopular Nintendo console'? What a laugh.

I agree, but JB 007 for the Game Boy, TND, AUF, FRWL05, BS, Cypher, and both console TWINEs were all great too. I don't put GE64 head and shoulders above them.

Bloodstone is perfect filler between QOS and SF. The closest we'll ever get to a Bond game that's perfect as a film as well

Bloodstone is the one Bond game I would recommend to a non-gamer. It’s essentially a great Bond movie, played out as a game.

Same here. My dad told me not to sell it, and he was completely right. Thanks, dad.

I agree. GE64 helped make Bond a videogame success. But what little flaws that GE had, those games helped fix in one way or another.

I do consider Bloodstone and Goldeneye 007 Reloaded as canon to DC's movies, between QOS and SF. It makes sense from a storytelling standpoint. It adds character depth to Bond's early missions to feeling old as an agent. Bloodstone just needed some bigger named actors to play the parts, as it did get a little confusing following which character was which.

One thing I really love about GE64 that future games TWINE64 and EON would implement albeit on a smaller scale was to show the inventory items from all sides via it rotating in the menu or HUD. A prop maker's dream, it emerses you in the game a bit more when you get a feel for the equipment you're using. Even items not seen in-game like the camera, Datathief and bomb defuser were tangible.

These days its possible to analyze the vast list of unused items via the ROM and GE editor and load them straight into your 3D CAD program for a thorough look. One gadget I was always curious about was the micro camera, which, despite the name, is larger than the subminiature camera used in Bunker 1 and Silo and looks a lot like the modem, but using a modified modem texture. It's also one of the items you throw at the wall and it sticks; once planted, the lens always faces right and the aerial in the side points up. This item was intended to be used in an unmade casino level. Would love to see this and other GE64 items make it into the films (or even new games) one day.
