Bizarre game oh well United secured second, next season we have to finish first.

Do you think you can catch City?

City will do well to achieve what they did last season in 2018/2019, teams need to stay close them and at least apply pressure. City losing to United and Liverpool showed a chink in there armour, though if Pep spends big again City's depth in quality will become increasingly difficult to match.

I don't think United or Liverpool will get any closer to them next year. It'll take a few years to bridge that gap. Sure United and Liverpool found a way to beat City (actually it was rather easy wasn't it) but try telling all the other timid teams to go at them.

No pressure on the next Arsenal Manager, Wenger says two or three players and Arsenal will compete for the Premiership.

Mohamed Salah wins the Premier League golden boot for 2017/18

    skysports-mohamed-salah-golden-boot_4309246.jpg?20180513171913
Record-breaking Mohamed Salah won the 2017/18 Premier League golden boot with a 32-goal haul for Liverpool.

The Egyptian became the highest scorer in a 38-game Premier League season with his strike against Brighton on Sunday, which helped seal a top-four finish for the Reds.

In total, Salah scored against 17 different opponents - no player has scored against more during the Premier League era.

Hopefully Salah can help us win the CL, right wiz ?

And wiz wanted Liverpool to sign morata and pogba instead of MO and Robbo........ :)
    You're a funny bugger wiz :)

You appear with all the inevitability of an unloved season.

Just in case you missed it:

    City 100 pts
    Scum 81 pts
    Spurs 77 pts
    Us 75 pts
    Chelsea 70 pts
    Arse 63 pts

So light years behind the champions (which is fine - we can't all get handed the GDP of the average third world country like Pep), 6 points behind a turgid Utd who have limped along all season playing terribly and with a manager who has been pilloried relentlessly and 2 points behind a team that only has one striker, pays their players Mcdonalds wages and has a manager openly slagging off his Scrooge of a chairman in the press. Not mention only just finishing above a Chelsea team and manager who have downed tools and only 4 wins above an Arsenal who have been so awful even their gormless board has finally been spurred into action and sacking Wenger. That's success is it?

The thrilling wins when we have destroyed teams 4 and 5 nil are masking all the points pathetically flushed down the toilet:

12/8/17 - Watford 3-3 Liv: 2 Points Pissed Away (PPA)
    10/12/17 - Liv 1-1 Everton: 2 PPA
    13/12/17 - Liv 0-0 WBA: 2 PPA
    22/12/17 - Ars 3-3 Liv: 2 PPA
    22/01/18 - Swa 1-0 Liv: 1 PPA
    04/02/18 - Liv 2-2 Spurs: 2 PPA
    21/04/18 - WBA 2-2 Liv: 2 PPA

Those are just the points we spunked, not even counting the terrible performances when we didn't even turn up like Man U away, Everton away, Stoke at home.

We should have been comfortably second and put a points haul on the board that would have won it us most years.

The league campaign has been scintillating at times and fucking abysmal at other times. When you watch us play we seem to have got better but we have made no actual tangible progress from last year unlike (say it quietly as it is heresy to suggest Jose is doing a competent job) the scum. We still fold quicker than the world origami champion the moment we concede one goal.

The CL has been fantastic but if we don't win it I can't give us any more than 7/10 for the season. The same old defensive problems are still there and Salah would need to score about 100 goals to mask those.

We're not Spurs or Arsenal. 4th is not a trophy. And however much of a stonk on for Salah you have got nor is the golden boot.

The bookies had Salah at 100-1 to score over 20 goals in August. Hardly lack of foresight on Wiz’s part. Anyone who seriously thought Salah would perform as consistently as he has across the season is either a liar, or a lunatic. Much like anyone who claims they had Leicester to win the title from day one of that season.

As you are obviously very happy with the season, I wonder why you spend so much time here attempting to wind up people and fishing for controversy. Maybe there is some hidden frustration there, looming inside you?

The bookies had Salah at 100-1 to score over 20 goals in August. Hardly lack of foresight on Wiz’s part. Anyone who seriously thought Salah would perform as consistently as he has across the season is either a liar, or a lunatic. Much like anyone who claims they had Leicester to win the title from day one of that season.
I'd know which one my money would be on!

If it was so obvious that he's a genius then why was he being sold for £34m in a market where anyone approaching being half decent is £50m and anyone world class the starting price is well north of £100m?

And still he needs to do it over numerous seasons.

By your 'rationale' Arsenal should've binned Bergkamp because how you perform in your first half dozen games is guaranteed how you are going to play for the rest of your career.

But I really don't want to get into a fruitless argument with the Germanlady to Salah's Daniel Craig. The adults are trying to have a serious discussion about football here; create a Mo Salah thread if you want as that's all you seem to be interested in.

Remains to be seen. Let's wait until we can judge it on evidence rather than playing well (and winning nothing so far) for 9 months.

Work fantasy champion (global ranking 181,731 out of 5,910,135 which equates to top 3% in the world): £250 on a £20 stake.

Salah golden boot: £48 on a £4 stake (presume you put everything you own on him and are now a millionaire such is your wisdom and faith in the messiah?)

Football Index portfolio trading at £126.23 on £40 invested.

Less losses of £20 in another fantasy league I didn't win, £5 apiece on City and PSG to reach the CL final.

    Total expenditure: £94
    Gross winnings: £424.23
    Total winnings of: £330.23

Return on my investments for the season of 351% and still got the World Cup to come.

Comfirmed! Two year contract is a bit short, isn't it? Managers rarely stick around at PSG for a long time, though.

Just discussing it with my mate from work and we think we had a finish in our fantasy league that surpasses City and 'Agueroooo' in 2012. It might even be the most preposterous finish to a league season in the history of the game!

Going into stoppage time my mate Steve was winning, I was second and a cretin called Neil who we both despise and who knows less than @001 about football was third, but there were only a handful of points between us all. Then Kevin hit Jesus with a stunning ball and it all goes totally mental in the space of about 3 seconds:

93.58 - Jesus controls the ball with a sublime touch and lobs it over the keeper:
    1st - Steve
    2nd- Wizard
    3rd - Neil

93.59 - The ball crosses the line:
    1st - Neil
    2nd - Wizard
    3rd - Steve
(Both Neil and Wizard have Jesus but Steve doesn't so they both jump ahead of Steve. But Neil has Jesus as captain and the Wizard doesn't so he pulls back enough to go level on points with the Wizard and under the tiebreak system of having made less transfers over the season the title is his.)

94.00 - Jesus pulls off his shirt and goes mental thus getting a booking:
    1st - Wizard
    2nd - Neil
    3rd - Steve
(Neil and Wizard were level but whilst Wizard only gets a -1 for Jesus' booking Neil cops for a -2 and the title shifts for the third time since the ball left Jesus' boot and sees the Wizard's boys crowned champions.)

    Full time:
    Wizard - 2177 points
    Neil - 2176 points
    Steve - 2174 points

We knew it was close but we've only just worked out how close. Has a title ever changed hands between three different teams in the the last minute of the last game of the season in the space of 3 seconds? Insane.

(Although I should point out that justice was very fortuitously done as the Wizard was cheated out of 4 points due to the Harry Kane phantom goal which the FA, Premier League, bookies, history books all say he scored but the official Premier League fantasy game says he didn't. Both Steve and Neil had Eriksen and the Wizard didn't so that 10 point swing against me made it closer than it should have been.)

That's a FPL story for the history books, @TheWizardOfIce! I was damn close captaining our friend Gabriel Jesus too, but instead went for Salah, who managed to keep his shirt on (why do they even take them off?). Winning by one point must feel real good, when the 10 point swing with the ghost goal didn't go through!

Won the mini league I've been battling to win by a comfortable margin of 58 points. The guy who finished 2nd is a massive Spurs fan, so that victory felt so, so good. Actually managed better scores after getting rid of Kane. One goal here and there at that price can't outscore a power midfield and cheaper strikers!

Ended up with a total of 2223 points, and a ranking of 83,357. Had a goal of top 250k, so I'm really happy.

Yeah but a bet is a risk because you aren't sure about the outcome. For you betting on Salah in August was free money because you knew didn't you? So a bit strange you didn't lump on given you were absolutely guaranteed to win.
Great news. Hopefully that definitely rules him out of composing the score for B25!

Probably, but Everton might not be as desirable a club to manage, looking back at this season. As with Arsenal, that squad needs rebuilding.
