ZZ going a bit over the top about the Ronaldo goal isn't he?

Trevor Sinclair's goal of the season for QPR and Emre Can's against Watford piss all over it when it comes to overhead kicks.

Not Rooney's against City though as that was a blatant shin.

Don't know about Jamie Carragher's pundit job in England, but he's back for Viasat tonight, covering Juventus-Real Madrid.

    Ronaldo scores. F**k…

They should sack Carragher for spitting at a girl. No class
    What do you think ?

    That's a World Classless spray :)

As was commented upon some pages back, Carragher's spitting was reason for action by Sky Sports. The've already suspended him for the rest of the season, haven't they?

Why he came back so early for Viasat, I don't know. Maybe they didn't see it as serious an incident as Sky? He'll definitely be back today for the Liverpool-City match.

Ronaldo may score the most beautiful goals in the world, but that doesn't hide the fact that he comes across as a self absorbed one-man show, and hardly the team man, like Messi for example.

Regarding the goal, it was hardly something we haven't seen before. As @TheWizardOfIce writes, there's other goals that looks more impressive. The Trevor Sinclair goal only one of them.

The Zlatan one against England (was it a friendly?), another:

Decent enough from a technical perspective(but Ronaldo's last night kills it because it was at the business end of a big competition and not into an open goal.

Say what you like about Ronaldo's ego but at least he delivers when it matters not like overrated one man PR company Zlatan doing it against shit teams down the bottom of the league, friendlies and the MLS. Did he ever even score a goal in the knockout stages of the CL?

Not really. Golazos have been a rarity from him. He mostly scores tap ins inside the box. This is the first stunner I can remember in a long time, probably all the way since he scored a decent goal vs Roma two seasons ago.

Oh, I didn't mean it like that. Should probably have written it more like «He can score the most beautiful goals in the world, for all I care», or something.

Not going to hold it against Ronaldo that he delivers at the business end of the season. That much we see in these games. However, the way everyone is going over themselves celebrating this goal, is a bit much. Had it been anyone else in that team, it would've been a footnote compared to the praise he's getting. But, that might be because of the figure he is.

Re. Zlatan: I don't know if he's scored in a knockout stage of CL, really. Will have to check. Of course he isn't on the same shelf as Ronaldo and those guys in term of quality, but he's always fun to watch.

There was also this goal from last year's final:

Not a bad effort from Mandžukić, this.

    Ray Wilkins gone.

Always came across as a gentleman of the game. Even though he has no connection to Liverpool or City I'd like to think Anfield will give him a minute's applause tonight.

I just found out about this...he looked so fit and healthy still last week on SKY.

Rosenborg signs Rafik Zekhnini from Fiorentina on a loan deal until July. With Adegbenro out, and De Lanlay not quite fit yet, you could understand this, but that's a short loan deal.

They (apparently) also had a offer declined from Dundee United for Steven Caulker early this week. The transfer window closes tomorrow, I think.

Uwe Rösler pitchside with Jan Åge Fjørtoft at Anfield for Viasat. No Carra!

Wish he could have done that more at Arsenal…

Best half we've played since the 05 final (I'm talking about the 2nd half obviously).

Still a long way to go. When our legs go on 70 mins we will be right under the cosh. I'd probably take 3-1 from here to be fair.

Fuck the Everton game on Saturday - don't care if we have to play the reserves. Everyone got to give every drop of blood here to hang onto at least 3-1.
    Oxlade-Chamberlain!
Wish he could have done that more at Arsenal…
I think that reflects more on Arsene than it does the Ox. After tonight think he's put himself on the plane 100%.

Arsene was rather petty in his comments about Ox when he went.

2-0 for Barcelona by Samuel Umtiti only looking back a second own goal by AS Roma defender. Curious who will get the goal to his name.

Manolas K.(Own goal), those Roma defenders are bloody murder to their own team. ;)
