    Well i don't think it's obligatory. I myself try to avoid the birthday connection every year, as I don't consider the day to be much important at all ;-)

    I'll be 29 which isn't a milestone birthday. I told my wife not to get me anything but walk into my house on Friday after work to a brand new 60" 4k tv. Apparently she didnt listen haha
