This is a tough one. TMWTGG is Moore's best, but TND, while Brosnan's second to worst, is great as well. I feel like I should say TMWTGG but my instincts tell me to go with TND, but only just. TMWGG had the better villian but TND had the better plot.

    TND

No offense, DC007, but if a Moore film is going against any other movie, you probably don't need to vote.

Hey, we all have our favorites. I am biased as all hell with anything Connery, but that's simply natural. Same with Dan. And I like Dan very much on a personal level, for all his beliefs and doings.

TMWTGG, but just barely. I'm really not all that sure why, but TND has been moving up in my ranking lately.

TMWTGG simply because elliot carver is embarrassing, and more irritating than mary goodnight.

TND is probably my favrouite Brosnan film as there is no attempt to make Bond a wet blanket as in later Brosnan films. While my love for the TMWTGG cannot match that of DaltonCraig, I still have a lot of love for it so it wins by a very big distance!

Plus, the locations in TND are much better, whereas TMWTGG stays in one place the whole time. .

    It does?

Beirut, Macao, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Communist China are all one place are they?

I meant in that general area of South East Asia. TND moved from the cold mountains of the Kyber Pass to Germany and then to China, so we get a wider variety than just South East Asia. Now, I did forget about Beirut, so you got me there, but I just meant that TMWTGG didn't move to different regions across the globe as much as TND did.

    TND

There, I said it. I have some love for TMWTGG but I nevertheless consider it one of the weakest Bonds. TND is a solid film in my book, flawed in some departments but rather stable in others. Both rank rather low on my lists but it all boils down to simple math:

    TND > TMWTGG the way 2/10 > 1/10.

    Forgive me.

The Man with the Golden Gun triumphs over Tomorrow Never Dies by just one vote! Now on to Round 5, where we'll have a showdown between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.

    Goldfinger vs. Casino Royale

    Voting is open!

    Casino Royale
  • Casino Royale. Goldfinger is just too cheesey in areas. Plus I always saw Auric Goldfinger as kind of an oaffish villan.

CR hands down. Best Bond theme, best Bond girl, 2nd best Bond, great adaption of the novel into the present times, great script, awesome action, and so, so much more! I'm biased. So what. Sue me.

I knew you'd enjoy this round Brady!
  • Plus I don't think GF has aged as gracefully as some of the other 60s Bond films such as FRWL or OHMSS. I honestly don't think it deserves it's reputation.

I could go on and on about the wonderful CR @00Beast. What a film! Here is a list I compiled a short time ago that pretty much outlines all the great things CR offers:

    *Great PTS
    *Great theme
*One of the greatest chases in Bond
*Great acting performances, especially from Dan and Eva
    *Thrilling action
*A Connery-like tough Bond, and not some campy puss
    *A reboot done right
    *Best Bond girl
    *Awesome card game bout
*Follows the novel close enough, but updates it successfully too
    *Nice ladies
*My favorite scene of the franchise, the train scene to Montenegro with Bond and Vesper
    *Not an overload of comedy
    *World-record-breaker
*Some great tracks from Arnold like Vesper, and Blunt Instrument
    *Great fighting choreography
    *Exotic and exciting locales
    *Memorable quotes and moments
*A great romance with Bond and Vesper
*A bitter betrayal that adds a lot of emotion to the film
*Dan threw all the hatred back at criticizing idiots with a great showing of talent

I agree with it all. The jump from DAD to CR was the single biggest increase in quality in the history of any film series IMO. Going from the worst to the best in just 4 years.

I think these to are very evenly matched. I think I'd pick Goldfinger going by memory. I'm not certain on that though.

Goldfinger because it's iconography is unmatched.

Barry's score (into Miami is perfect)
    Bassey's theme
Gert Frobe as GF was excellent
    Golden girl
    Db5
    Swiss locale
Bond and the laser (I expect you to die!)
Connery was superb. Laid back, somewhat smug, assuringly confident and eternally suave
    Oddjob
    Classic pts

Both GF and CR are amazing films both have their strengths and weaknesses but GF wins this one for me but not by much.
