The worst thing they can do is a Craig movie without Craig.

EON made a Connery film without Connery - OHMSS, and that turned out pretty good

    It was a flop.

    Budget $7 million
    Box office $82 million

How was it a flop? Most movie producers would probably sell their souls to the devils for such a gain.

AI is moving at a remarkable pace and if i were Amazon I would consider a future Bond film with AI Sean Connery as James Bond. Around the age he was in Dr No. If the rights to Connery's image were granted, and AI wasn't used for the majority of thee film so real actors and crew were employed... why not consider pushing the frontier of technology with AI James Bond.

Here is the most realistic AI in 2025. AI can successfully get the mouths to match the dialogue. All of the scenes in this video are AI generated. Not real.

The technology is here to create a prequel to Dr. No. A fully created AI theatrical film would most likely face legal challenges as SAG-AFTRA and UK Equity actors would not be used, however if the majority of the film used real cast and crew, just Connery recreated, it should be okay to distribute. I can understand if fans think Sean Connery brought back to AI life is disrespectful and wrong but the possibilities with AI are incredible.

Perhaps you could use AI to put Dolly's braces back into MR instead.

Sean Connery is dead. AI will not change this, but merely create a hollow facsimile using his appearance that will, almost inevitably, fail to properly recreate his charm or presence.

And just because we can do something with AI doesn’t mean we should.

I think Bond AI has potential. Just saying. 😊

We all know Bond 26 is delayed a year or so.

    Why?

To allow Christopher Nolan to finish The Odyssey. Out July 2026.

So when that's done Amazon will begin Bond 26. Nolan will be free. Amazon will have some idea where they want to take the franchise. Expect Bond 26 in 2028.

    (Probably.) 😉

This post was not AI generated. 🤭

Not sure how reliable World of Reel is at any rate (from what I understand they have their share of stuff that hasn't turned out to be accurate). I've always said that the Cuaron stuff really has to be treated as a rumour until it's confirmed anyway.

Amazon wants to move quickly and have a team ready once the $1 billion rights deal is closed with Barbara Broccoli. Writers have already been hired for Bond 26; They just need a director now.
Didn't the deal already close? I thought it had...
Back in the aughts, Cuarón had been offered the chance to direct Bond, but he was quickly turned off when he found out that a separate Broccoli-approved team would be handling the action sequences.
So they mean second unit? First I've heard of this.

Not sure what to make of it...rumor mill I'd say.

I always wonder why it’s such a big deal for some of these directors to have a 2nd Unit Team. Bond movies are big and collaborative anyway, and I’d have thought having an experienced team to handle certain sequences/fulfil the director’s vision for these scenes would be a huge benefit. It’s certainly not uncommon to have them on bigger films (hell, even the likes of Stanley Kubrick - for all his perfectionism/creative control - used a 2nd Unit Team).

Directing M scenes doesn't seem very fun.

Really? Suppose it depends, but generally they have a lot going on in them that gives the actors/director a lot to work with.

If its true writers have been hired I wonder how long until we find out their names?

Good question. I have a feeling it’ll be before the end of the year at least, but I wish I could be more specific.

The only writers who have been hired on Bond 26 are the imaginary ones in Insneider and Jordan Ruimy’s heads. These two have been consistently incorrect about almost everything to do with James Bond.

Once writers get hired by Pascal and Heyman, it’ll be a huge announcement. This is literally the top writing assignment to be had in the film industry. The biggest: The writers chosen, will not only be resurrecting James Bond, but they will be the team to bring him into a wholly brand new era under “new management”.

This will be huge news, and not swept under the carpet.

There are no writers on the job yet. The project isn’t even in proper development. But once writers are hired, every single trade and rag will explode with the news. Every member on this site will know within ten minutes of the announcement.

Read the World of Reel and Insneider only to be disappointed, 😂.

With AI massively increasing in power, there is not going to be any justification for Amazon to spend 100s of millions on budget. When AI and live action can be successfully combined you'll have sets created for nothing except a small payment charge.

The days of huge budget films is going to end if Hollywood embraces AI. If it can create visuals at ridiculously low budgets then it will embrace the technology.

The power of AI is like nothing ever seen before in the history of the entertainment industry. It's happening whether we want it or not. The entity is here, 007! 🤭

Exactly. Not just James Bond. But I couldn't help, but think James Bond first.

Netflix just began construction of a new 1 Billion dollar studio. Clearly no one told them about AI.

Speaking of AI...I asked it to pitch a Bond animated film and it came up with an idea that I actually kinda love. It would revolve around Bond's biracial son, Jamie, who would be looking for the father he never knew who has been missing presumed dead his whole life. Then Bond and Jamie have to team up to stop a nefarious enemy.

If Amazon came up with something like this - in the animated style of the Spider-Verse or Arcane series - I'd be down.

I even asked it to create an image of Jamie for me....

They suggest that Pierce Brosnan should return to voice Bond....

I play around with AI a lot. Where it lacks, at this time, is in repeatable, editable, direct-able content. There could be singular AI shots in the next Bond film but right now it can't tell a cohesive story.

Bond 26 doesn't even have a domain yet, correct? It's like talking about Casino Royale in March of 2003, the film is still very theoretical and there's a long way to go.

2027 would a perfect Bond year with the possibilities of incorporating 007 into a release date logo. Not as good as 2007 mind. Missed opportunity there.

    Already unrealistic unfortunately.

    Probably Nov/Dec 2028.
