It's crazy! Bond is everywhere. I even heard some guy walking down the street humming the Bond theme. Bond hasn't been this big since the 60s I presume and now more than ever, the pressure is on for Bond 24 to not cock things up. The way I see it is, SF has a sort of modern day impact to GF. Bond 24 is going to be like TB, the hype machine is going to be bananas.

Great to see Bond so big, thanks for all the pictures. Even where I am, the DVD/BD is being advertised on buses. Far bigger than Die Hard.

I'm very interested in what the overall sales intake is by end of day's play and by the end of the week of the dvd and blu rays.

Many suspect it to be one of the biggest selling films of the year, so I wouldn't put it past Skyfall to top that list.

How well did The Avengers do?

And I'd love to see some pre-orders figures (with something to compare them to, obviously, for them to make sense).

The first time in my life I've ever pre-ordered anything. Not that it's here yet, but on the way, anyway. If I'm lucky I might get it tomorrow. If not, well, then I'll be out of town for a couple of days with just the score to enjoy...

No idea but I'm sure @Gustav or @Suivez will be here soon enough with diagrams, bar graphs and pie charts.

The build up to and day of this DVD release has reminded me of (and this is a big compliment) a SLIGHTLY scaled down version of the build up to and day of the actual World Premiere! Retailers and fans going nuts - it's fantastic!
  • Got it from Tesco on the way home. Tons of display stands. I can't remember a DVD release ever being this big.

I can imagine the last "big" DVD release was Avatar. I remember that was huge in the Tesco I work at.

I just got the DVD and watched last night. It has some special features, good but only a few...
Which I really like of the DVD is its menu! They mixed very good the scenes with the Bond theme.
  • I popped in to Best Buy here on my way to work, and there were a few people who walked straight over to the SF DVDs. My cashier told me that I was the sixth person to buy it already, then said something very funny. There was a Rhianna song playing (Diamonds?) and he said "They're playing this because of you." I asked him what he meant, and in his very heavily accented English he told me that it was the theme song to SF and it had been playing several times that morning. He said "They must have it set up that every time someone buys this movie this song plays". He was so smiley and friendly that I didn't have the heart to correct him..!
  • Hopefully my amazon order will arrive tomorrow. Got an email saying it was dispatched on Sarturday however it is being delivered to France. Will finally be able to watch it in English after 2 cinema showings in "dubbed" French...I hate dubbed films but I think I have mentioned that here before...
  • Got notification from Amazon that my Steelbook copy was dispatched today. Hope it turns up ASAP as really want to watch the movie on Blu-ray and to get to enjoy all the extras.

Can you buy the Blu-ray Disc by itself or is it just DVD or BD/DVD combo?

You are telling me. I feel sorry for the poor bloke who would have to remove me from 221B Baker Street, because next to nothing would make me ever leave there.

    "Who is that bloke?"

"Some American. Came in yesterday, bought a deerstalker and just sat down, refusing to leave. He has been "searching for clues" with some magnifying glass, pretending to smoke a pipe and just keeps muttering "Watson" to himself.

It's nice to see the matching spines. Are they the same as the other films? Somehow I doubt it!

Really that shouldn't have made me laugh as much as it did. It must be my age.

I picked up the Steelbook from Amazon and it looks great. Hats off to Amazon for their Steelbook packaging, it was first class! I haven't opened the Steelbook yet (that's my Saturday night treat this week :D).

Has there been an official announcement on whether or not they will be releasing a Skyfall disc for the Bond 50 collection, or do we just have to buy the Blu Ray and put the disc in the Bond 50 collection? If the latter is the way they are expecting us to obtain the disc, is the print on the disc the same as the Bond 50 collection?

Disappointed by the lack of Deleted Scenes, otherwise a fairly good effort (not brilliant), suppose all the really good stuff will be on the De Luxe Edition a la CR!

Tonight this girl is having a date with Mr. Bond! My SF blue-ray just arrived. According to Amazon it should be delivered tomorrow, so for once the german mail behaved properly.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 guess what else I got in the same package. I'll give you a clue: it starts with an S and ends with a K.
