That thread made me think about two characters who made quite a strong impression on Bond for their skills in martial arts. If we know what happened to one, the other's fate is quite unknown. I'm taking, of course about these two karate schoolgirls, Cha and Nara, Hip's nieces. If one (Nara) has took to smoking and become a landlady, what became of the other ? Where has Cha gone ?

I'm always thinking that Paris Carver is actually Lupe Lamora in TND.

Both Lupe Lamora and Paris Carver had similarities, Gold Diggers, marrying a rich man to fulfill their desires, and would love them, and she's also Bond's old flame, so that one speaks more volumes.

Like After Sanchez had died, she had a relationship with that Governor but didn't last, so third times the charm for her, as she found the right man for her, Elliot Carver.

Even her reaction to Bond and how much did she knew him.

They even had the same hairstyle and outfit, Paris Carver's look in TND reminds me of Lupe's look in the Casino in LTK.

She even slapped Bond, maybe because of Bond choosing Pam over her?

So, maybe after she ended up with that Governor in LTK, their relationship didn't last, the Governor fooled her, Lupe was in a great despair until Elliot Carver (also a rich man) came along, promised her the love that she wanted and married her.

    Then the rest was history.

    And, she died......

So I will leave it there.

Paris Carver is basically Lupe Lamora for me, she's it.....

I love this! What a shame the producers didn"t have the creativity that you have. I think this would be a great connection and call back. I had heard that some wanted her to be called Sylvia after Sylvia Trench, but I much prefer this story!

I am glad they did not go with the "Sylvia" idea. Ms. Trench was far more discerning, and would not have gotten tangled with a cad like E Carver. She'd have rejected him outright, and looked across the casino and spotted a more worthy gentleman, with a nice putter and balls, something she could play with to amuse herself...

Personally, I think the words 'groan' and 'coming' are far more enticing concearning the good Dr. Christmas than Dr. Goodhead. But that's down to personal taste, of course.

Same here. The Lupe story works though, and we'd hava had a far better (and more beautiful) actress to play the role as well.

ANyway, as we all know, Lupe managed to seduce the president. She had learned from her former lover, so as soon as they were together she started scheming behind his back. As she was only seen as golddigger, nobody paid proper attention and she managed to get more and more stocks of state-run companies, until she finally managed to pull them all towards herself. Nowedays she owns oil companies, utilities companies, water filtration plants, and some major plantations. When she had her companies she schemed to have the president killed. She then led the country to democracy and stepped down, leaving her increadably wealthy and popular.

Lupe Lamora took acting lessons after LTK, but dropped out after her acting coach told her she had absolutely no talent.

I honestly don't get that criticism. To my eyes she plays a golddigger perfectly well, and I've sene plenty of them behave exactly like that (including the 'I love you so much!'). She's not the best actress, for sure, but she comes over exactly as what she's supposed to be.

Okay time to have another look at another character who escaped with their lives at the end of the movie. I am talking about the one and only Klaus Hergersheimer from Section G at Willard Whyte Industries. Klaus was last seen giving Professor Metz an aneurism. unwittingly helping our man get into the Metz lab to see the crucial satellite. Did he continue to working for Willard Whyte? Did Metz get him fired?

What say you Mi6 members? Whatever happened to Klaus Hergersheimer?

That would be ironic. Maybe his family sued Willard Whyte for a dangerous work environment. checking radiation shields should have been done in a hazmat suit perhaps. LOL!

After not feeling challenged enough by his work checking radiation shields Klaus Hergersheimer went into the Church and worked his way up to becoming a Bishop. ;)

..I see what you did there!!!! :))

I like to think that Klaus retired after this DAF thingy concluded. After a long career serving as Hawaii CapCom, an Aries-1B Lunar Shuttle Captain and as an Earth defender against UFOs, he decided to return to nature and bought a little house in the countryside.

Where there is no urban light making it difficult to scan the night skies, looking for UFOs on his own...

He became a professional photographers' model, because of his radiant smile. But when people realized how he got it, his employment was quickly reduced. He tried to get a role in a movie about the Radium Girls around 1920, but that never came about. So he died a sad death because of not even being able to heat his home.

Actually, those radiationshields didn't do squad, as Klaus sadly found out soon enough. Here he is a couple of month's later

Klaus and his scenes were standout parts of DAF. Although IMO that says just as much about DAF as it does him.

They should do a Klaus Hergersheimer spinoff film. It would be like Office Space, but with radiation shields instead of PC LOAD LETTER.

Edit: I wonder who could play Hergersheimer today. Looks like an easy role but there are many subtleties that go into it. You have to be able to act happy, relaxed, polite, befuddled... and be magnetic within your anonymity.
