Legrand was somewhat unfairly maligned for his NSNA soundtrack...unavoidable when EoN still had John Barry available. Much as I prefer NSNA over a number of "official" movies, I also find Lani Hall's title song superior to quite a few of the EoN themes.

But my favourite Legrand score is this:

Edit: This was meant to be a link to "Summer of '42" on YouTube, but for some strange reason the clip will show here, but does not work (no sound).

Being a big fan and major supporter of NSNA I am sorry to hear of Michel LeGrand's passing.

    SHIT !!!!!!

Albert Finney has just died !!

That puts to bed the chance that Kincade would return.

A legend. What a boon for his last appearance to have been a fun role in a Bond film. His turns in The Dresser and Under the Volcano are staggering.

An amazing career comes to an end, but what a legacy Finney leaves behind. Such a shame he never won an Oscar, though that doesn't make him any less of a legend.

I remember for an audition once I did "I Hate People" from SCROOGE, along with a monologue from ORPHANS. A classmate said to me "You must be a huge Albert Finney fan". He was quite right.

Another great actor goes to play in the everlasting theater beyond our mortal grasp. I hope he'll have a blast with those who preceded him .

What rubbish news to wake up to.

He was one of the best aspects of Skyfall for me.

I just felt like watching this. Finney kicking some ass:

Wow! Albert Finney. My sister and I are in the middle of watching "Tom Jones". I don't know if I can finish it right now.

R.I.P. Mr. Finney. You were a legend.

Goodbye to one of the true greats who managed to enhance one of the best Bond films even more.

RIP to our Kincaid (Albert Finney) you will be sorely missed.

Kincade was a great character, and Finney was perfect for it.

I was only thinking of him the other day.
    RIP Shane Rimmer.
An under appreciated ally from TSWLM, Tom in DAF and a radio operator in YOLT.
With one of the best voices in the film and tv industry.
    A sad loss.
