YOLT is middle-of-the-pack for me, but both others hover only very slightly above rock bottom.

    So it's definitely YOLT/YOLT.

YOLT ² - a relatively simple choice for me in both cases. YOLT is one of the more epic films in the franchise and has many memorable and interesting scenes. Additionally, it boasts a great John Barry score, phenomenal Ken Adam sets and wonderfully captures the beauty and atmosphere of Japan. It's not my favourite by any means (I have it lower middle of the pack) but I do enjoy it. I think it does what it set out to do far more successfully than AVTAK & TWINE, which reside at the bottom of my rankings. Moore should have left after OP and P&W shouldn't have been hired imho.

Well put. I underlined the parts I agreed with the most.

I appreciate YOLT’s epicness but the characters are so dull. Henderson is fun but he has only one scene, the rest of them can’t hold a candle to Zorin, May Day, Tibett, Elektra or Zukovsky.

I have a particularly fractious relationship with YOLT. Is it an overblown epic mess or a fantastic culmination of the entire Connery saga?

I've been leaning towards the latter.

Granted, Tiger isn’t bad either. But Kissy and Aki are so dull, Pleasence Blofeld is my least favourite and Hans is utterly forgettable.

And don't forget rule number 2: In Japan, men come first, women come second.
