    TND beats DAD: the action, the story, and the characters are all superior. There's also a bit more energy in the pacing of the film, which makes it quite a blast to watch even for the umpteenth time. I can't say the same for DAD, which only gets worse over time (and it wasn't good to begin with either).

    CR (2006) beats FRWL. No question about it.

    Finally, a competitive round:

    DAD vs TND - The earlier film starts very promisingly, but unforgivably disintegrates midway through. Some cite it as Brosnan's best performance. I couldn't disagree more. While he's cool in the beginning, this is also the film where he starts with the excessive smarminess, smugness and emotionality which ruined his tenure for me. Some of the action is certainly top notch, but I'm not as impressed by the vaunted car chase as others. The Americanisms littered about disappoint me too. We are all aware of DAD's faults and they are certainly glaring, but this is the film where Brosnan finally got the hang of Bond. It's cheesy, at times a bit vulgar, and arguably more a parody than a celebration. However, it's also very entertaining. DAD for the win.

    CR vs FRWL - this is actually a much bigger win than I would have imagined. While I can appreciate that CR has a lot of fans, for me it has become somewhat stained by Brothergate and the forced continuity foisted upon us by the last entry. I'm not too keen on anything after 'ball breaker' either. It's unquestionably Daniel Craig's best performance as Bond, but good as he is I don't think he comes close to the brilliance of Sean Connery at his peak. FRWL to me is apex of Bond film making. A film which sublimely combines suspense, romance, style, atmosphere and plot in a manner that has yet to be surpassed by EON. FRWL for the win.

    I wonder if CR would have more wins if not for SP. FRWL is the site favorite though; it always comes out on top for elimination games (for the best film).

    Round 17:

    TND vs DAD. Objectively speaking, I would probably rank them this way:

    1st 2/3 of DAD
    All of TND
    Final 1/3 of DAD.

    TND's the more consistently successful of these two from start to finish but I do like the Cold War style espionage and intrigue of the first 1/2 of DAD with North Korea filling in for the former U.S.S.R. I'll cast my vote for DAD

    and

    FRWL vs CR. Old school vs. new school. I consider these both about equally. It's really a coin toss for me but I'll let my bias in favor of John Barry, Sean Connery and the classic Cold War espionage and intrigue era lead my decision making on this. I cast my vote for FRWL

    Tough.

    TND is great for the first half and then loses its way.
    DAD is entertaining until the boring finale...

    TND wins....................just.

    This one is almost impossible to decide on so i will go by my rankings....one is #2 and one is #3.

    FRWL wins,only because it is in #2 spot .

    As many have said already, this is a much tougher round in both cases.
    TND and DAD sadly both reside at the lower end of my rankings. DAD despite its many flaws has grown on me somewhat, and is not quite as bad as I first thought. It's very entertaining. However I think the better overall package is TND
    TND vs DAD
    FRWL and CR are two heavyweight fan favourites, often regarded as some of the best of the series. And I love them both. CR was a great debut for Daniel Craig, and a very solid film altogether. But when I watch it, it's like a film of two halves. With FRWL it's a slightly slower paced film from beginning to end. But it's such a great spy thriller.
