Yes, I tend to take coffee more in the morning to wake me up and tea for the rest of the day.

What I have in my possession is a nice example of the shaver itself and original print ad from a 1953 magazine, the ad matching the one on screen:

Excellent spot and what a nice item, @QBranch!

And thanks for swooping by, @MaxTheParrot - merry Christmas to you and yours!

Very very nice @QBranch. For every Tom, Dick, and Harry. And John and George and Charles and Bob.

And very very subtle (even unknown as you said) DAD product placement on the part of Philips I guess.

Thank you both - the vintage shaver came with original box, manual (all in German) and cleaning brush. The first single-head and first twin-head shavers produced were advertised on the walls of the abandoned station, and as noted, Bond used the latest Philishave/Spectra model in the Rubyeon Royale hotel room, bringing a part of Philips history full circle!

'Twas the night before Christmas... (4:42)
The poem was recorded in support of the Actors’ Benevolent Fund, of which The Prince of Wales has been Patron for over 20 years taking over the role from Her Majesty The Queen in 2000.

The charity supports actors and stage managers who are unable to work due to illness, injury or old age and those experiencing financial hardship particularly during the Coronavirus pandemic.

This year has been particularly difficult for those working in the industry and in April the charity launched an Emergency Grant Fund to support those in their profession who are experiencing financial hardship owing to the pandemic.

    Christmas Cracker

James Bond Christmas Cracker is a hilarious dinner theatre show over 2-3 hours performed by highly experienced comedians. Ideal for staff Christmas or mid-Winter parties, theme parties, conferences, restaurants, team building, cabaret evenings or many types of corporate and private functions and events.
An Evil Genius is trying to destroy your Christmas. They are doing everything they can to make people miserable so MI6 is sending in James Bond, licensed to entertain. He will be accompanied by M or Miss Money Penny, or both for larger audiences.

Guests will be inducted into spy school and challenged to certain tasks which may include, a short James Bond Quiz, lessons on sophistication, looking good while playing baccarat… and some self-defence moves that James just thought of.

On top of all that, the ladies will learn the art of seduction with the cunning use of mistletoe.

After training, the Evil Genius is sure to be thwarted by the guests and sent packing.

This show is recommended for groups of 50-150 guests.

For smaller groups, we have our combined Christmas dinner show and dance where you can buy tables of 10. You can check out what’s on offer and the themes for this year here

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you're having a great day with friends, family & food. Had some turkey, potato salad and cherry cake with fam, and looking forward to a bit of rocky road with my OHMSS later on tonight.

Hope you all received some Bondian pressies from loved ones. I didn't but hey nearly every day is Christmas for this collector!

Have fun and cheers for the beers {[]

    December 25th Christmas Day.

Sharing Ian Fleming Publications Seasons Greetings 2022 from a few days ago.

And also something from page 24 and 2021 I think is worth repeating.

OK, so I just wanted to share a passage from John Gardner's James Bond continuation novel Win, Lose or Die (1989) with you all yesterday but I ran out of time unfortunately. Anyway I'll post it here today instead. To set the scene, Win, Lose or Die is partly set at Christmas and Bond is in this scene reminiscing about his early life with the Bond girl of the book, Beatrice Maria da Ricca. Beatrice asks Bond:

    220px-WinLoseOrDie.jpg
Win, Lose or Die, John Gardner, 1989.
Chapter 8 - All the Other Demons
"Until now, what's the best Christmas you can remember?"

Bond grunted and stretched. "I think the last Christmas I spent with my parents." His voice changed, the sentences delivered haltingly, as though he found it difficult to discuss. "I'm a mongrel as well, Bea. Scottish father and Swiss mother. Christmas in a little chalet on Lago Lugano." He gave a laugh, "Odd that it was the best, because I was ill - just recovering anyway. Chickenpox, measles, that sort of thing."

    "Why was it the best?"

He gave an almost schoolboyish smile. "I got everything I asked for. They indulged me. There was an air-pistol, as I recall it."

    "What else?"

"I had to stay in bed, but my father opened the window and put some tin cans on the ledge. Let me pot away at them for half an hour or so. In the evening they both stayed in my room and ate Christmas dinner from trays. It was different. A final taste of love. I'll never forget it."

    "Final? Why final?"

"My parents were killed, climbing, a few weeks later."

"Oh, James." She seemed shocked, as though regretting she had asked.

    "A long time ago, Beatrice..."
