@Mazouni - Saying that nobody (and not "most people") play those games anyone is just like those who have said that nobody plays single player story driven games anymore. Horizon: Zero Dawn & God Of War, two single player story driven games (the latter even had Microsoft devs congratulating Sony on it's reception), that have both had a lot of praise heaped on them.

If a developer made a new spy game, and it was good enough, a lot of people would play it. The market is just being swamped by COD style shoot 'em ups.

Double Agent has always been my personal favorite. Lots of hours of frustration but damn the puzzles and the gadgets that you had plus working for both sides had me hooked for months.
What version of Double Agent did you play?

    Xbox 360

At the beginning of the month I finally got myself a switch and christened it with Super Mario Odyssey. As a huge Mario fan, this game is truly a treat for the fans. It takes all the best things from Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy and just delivers this awesome 3D exploration goodness. This kind of Mario game has been missed since 2010 and It was well worth the wait. It's packed to the gills with stuff you can do and so many different ways for how you can accomplish your goals. I'm loving every moment of it. It's my new favorite Mario game. :-bd

Xbox 360 version made the most sense I thought. The regular Xbox version made no sense to the story.

I finally got around to beating God of War a few days ago. Such a great game. I've never really played much of the other God of War games and I wasn't lost on the story or the character of Kratos. I have to admit something about the game reminded me a bit of The Last of Us. It might have been the dynamic between Kratos and his son reminding me of Joel and Ellie.
Now I'm back to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Last night I finally got around to beating my second Divine Beast. I now have the elephant and the bird completed. My Switch says I've put "40 or more hours" into this game and it feels like I have so much more to do. I love this game lol.

Glad to see more and more switch enthusiasts here, i also got a switch back on release. Loved Zelda and Mario Odyseey. Perfect 10's from Nintendo as expected, but they are still willing to Experiment a lot.

Last game that i played was South Park The Fractured but Whole for Switch. And except for the one game breaking Bug that is still in the game (f*** ubisoft) I was in tears laughing all the way through. Just my Kind of humor. And the fight mechanics were great as well, and thats coming from someone who hates turn based rpgs.

I got two new games for my Switch the other day.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: It's pretty fun and very beautiful to look at. I don't think it's going to be my favorite Mario Kart as the N64 one still has a special place in my heart but Mario Kart 8 is pretty enjoyable.

DOOM: I needed to get a game to shake things up. This is honestly the best modern shooter I've played in recent years. It reminds me a lot of the old Turok games for the N64. I beat the main campaign but now I'm going back through and finding all the secrets I missed.

Games I plan on getting next. Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Last game I finished playing was Far Cry 5. Loved the setting. Still pretty much your cookiecutter far cry.

Now playing Beyond Two Souls. Or should I say wstching and reacting from time to time.

Also tried the demo of David Cage's upcoming "game", Detroit - Become Human.

Oh snap, you hit a nerve with me right there when you mentioned Turok64 @Murdock
The first one is up there with Ocarina, Goldeneye64 and Mario64 as one of the best 64 games for me.

How are the controls for Doom?
Its kind of a rule of mine to never play FPS Ports on consoles due to the lack of Mouse aiming, but if its that good i might make an exception.

Oh and you definitly should get Breath of the wild, but its quite different from older games, its trully a sandbox game this time around. Total freedom, do and be whatever you want to.

We reach! As for the controls, they are solid. They are simple and easy to learn. I play it with the joycon grip as I feel that's the best way to play it but it's awesome. I plan on getting Breath of the Wild soon. Sandbox games are my jam. :D

    Friday The 13th: The Game
The much needed update is finally coming today, though in the UK, we have to wait until about 9pm , before we get it. So I have been playing my last few matches with the game in its present state. This is is my most recent recorded match from a few days ago:

It is so satifying to get 8/8, especially when players have been beating you like a Piñata throughout the match. Better still, the last kill was a swirly in the toilet. Classic. :D

Sadly I haven't had much time to play this lately, I've been too busy to play it for more than an hour or two at a time. I'm only a few hours into it. However, what I have played has been really fun and at times nerve wreaking. I thought I had made a mistake at one point and killed one of my main characters. I was so pissed at myself lol. I'll have to give a proper review once I'm done.
I'm trying to get through this one quickly though. I have Everspace downloaded on my PS4 and I'm really in the mood to play a space combat game.

I also got Kara killed in the second chapter she was in.

Even so, I enjoyed the chapters with Markus and Connor. I really thought the choises I made had meaningful consequences.

I thought it felt like it was made of parts of Blade Runner, parts Minority Report and parts of I, Robot.

FIFA18 has just had a Russia World Cup update, so another thing to get me ready for the greatest sporting event that starts in under two weeks.

Finally got around to beating this last night. Such a great game. I have a feeling it will be in my top 5 for 2018. I finished with one of the happier endings.
I chose to have Conner become deviant and side with Markus. His partner Hank died at the end though.
Markus had a peaceful protest at the end, even though he started out more hostile. The androids got their equal rights in the end.
Kara made it to Canada with Alice but Luther died at the end.
A great game but damn is it nerve wreaking. The replay value is really high on this one.

This is what I have been playing over the last few days. A gothic horror action rpg, set in London, 1918. The game follows Dr Johnathan Crane, noted specialist in blood transfusions, returns from the dead, following a bite from a vampire.
The map of London is split into districts, each one has a rating tied to the citizens that you interact with. The citizens get sick, the rating goes down. If you heal them, the rating goes back up. The lower the rating, the more the district will spiral into anarchy. You earn xp for killing vampires, vampire hunters and completing quests. The citizens can be killed for XP, if they are sick, you get less xp. So the game is constantly tempting you to unlock more abilities by feeding on the innocent. So far, I have avoided taking innocent lives, but it isn't easy. Some areas have enemies of a higher level, so I have had to pick my fights carefully.

Still on FarCry 5. Still fun but it lacks a sort of depth that made 3 and 4 really good.

@MajorDSmythe The atmosphere sort of reminded me of Blood Rayne.

I don't don't know about that. Bloodrayne had a dry humour, and lots more action. Whereas Vampyr puts a lot of focus on the moral tightrope of deciding whether to give in to the vampire nature and kill innocent people.

But Bloodrayne is one of those games from that generation that I want so much see given a makeover. I don't know who owns the rights now. Majesco sold off its properties before dissolving and leaving the business, only to later start up again. I always hoped they would make a 3rd game set between the first two, set during the cold war, specifically the 1960's.

Half Life 1 and 2 were the most played on my PS2 great games back in the day, I should probably revisit them on PC.

Half Life 2 is better then Half Life 1 I think. If your going to play Half Life should be on the pc. The game was not meant to be played with a controller.
