    Interesting, only this week, my daughters watched the end to " Pretty little liars"
    After ( I'm guessing 9 or 10 seasons) and were almost screaming at the
    Television on how bad the big reveal episode was. :))
    It's a shame though, Dexter seemed so well acted and written, all the characters
    Believable ..... Sad. To misquote Alan Partridge " Stop getting Dexter Wrong !" ;)

    I wonder if in x amount of years they'll make a new season of Dexter, as lately they seem to bring back almost every show that were popular back in the day.

    I think just about all the die-hard fans were vocal enough in not only how horrible the series finale for the show was, but how long the show overstayed its welcome. Look at 'Breaking Bad': in an alternate universe, would I love to see more from the show, especially those 'rumored' storylines that always pop up for a sixth season? Absolutely. But the show ended when it should've and didn't stay longer than need be, which makes it one of the best shows of all time: quality that doesn't die down from milking the series.

    Pretty Little Liars is in the middle of Season 6 and still running ;;)

    Oh, I must have that wrong. :)) but it's my daughters who are the fans.
    Say, it's now going to jump 5. Years forward with some other bloke
    After them. ( I have to admit, I lost Interest as they were explaining it to me) :))

    Yeah...I actually just watch it because my wife loves that stuff.
    Thanks to my wife I've been through hell and back....with Sex And The City, Gilmore Girls (7 seasons!) and Desperate Housewives (100 seasons) :)
    But I so love my wife and after all she's watching "my" TV Shows with me too :x

    Thankfully I've been spared that hell. ;) all I get is an bit of eye rolling
    When she finds me watching old B/W episodes of The Avengers or
    Wild,Wild West. It would be less embarrassing if I was watching porn. :))

    I have not read every page on this thread so forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but THE best show on TV right now is the brilliant Banshee. Of interest to people on this site because it stars two Bond alumni, Ulrich Thompson from WINE and Ivana Milicvic from CR, who is simply sensational as the leading ladie. Its not for the faint hearted or the weak stomached. Very violent sexually explicit and foul mouthed, its a proper pulp fiction series. A series that's very much aimed at adults its the kind of thing that movies these days wouldn't go anywhere near because every movie these days has to be a PG because studios are terrified of taking any chances. Well worth seeking out

    Do yourself a favour and sign off after season 4, I remember friends tuning out during S3 but I actually liked the change of pace after S2 and then we head into S4 but after that it is quite literally down hill.

    I myself when I watched S1 thought I was witnessing something very special that had some real mileage but I was horribly wrong, Dexter became formulaic as TJ Hooker by it's final season and you just slap your face in disbelief that they are actually taking the story where it's going, Charlotte Rampling's character is definitely guilty of introducing an element where this show is completely sunk but all fairness as soon as we meet Dexter again in S5 it was damned in hindsight.

    I'd give the nod to RIPPER STREET over BANSHEE for being the best of the current crop, but I agree the latter is absolutely gripping. BANSHEE gets points for seeming to go way over the top with elements and yet remain fully engaging ... a real tightrope act. I've rarely ever seen violence that was so satisfyingly meted out to those who deserve it, so in a sense it is wish-fulfillment TV, but very accomplished. Did an article about it earlier this year and they use 10 to TWENTY cameras on some setups, like the big gunfight in the middle of third season. The precinct attack is something I've seen about 9 times already (thank God for screening DVDs!)

    Hey, came across set 1 & 2 of the old CALLAN series, each $17 bucks used, at a local store. Have only seen the several eps available on netflix (starting with when he is 'back' after I guess being shot), but really liked the feel and want to see more.

    Is there significant rewatchability with most of the run, or do you folks think it is more of a one-off viewing, given the poverty-row production aspects endemic of the era?

    I haven't seen the series, but I want to. I've seen the film, as well as the tv movie sequel, 'Wet Job'.

    The missus and I started with "Game of thrones" of which we'd only seen part of when season 1 came out. We are now halfway season 2 (watching on bluray having season 1-4 for our watching pleasure). I am fairly impressed bit season two seems to involve more nudity than season one, which is sometimes a wee bit distracting. I like the storylines.

    @SaintMark, I'm glad you're getting into GoT! Perhaps you can catch up with the series in time for season six in April (shouldn't be too hard at the rate you're going).

    Hung out with a bunch of old friends this weekend, and for some reason, we got bored enough to lay down and start watching the 'Scream' television series (which I remember saying that I had no interest in it fairly recently). However, it has surprised me. I don't like the new look of the mask, but I always enjoy a whodunit, so I'm going to catch up on all of the episodes out today in time for the finale in a few weeks (or whenever it ends up being). It's not too bad, but it is MTV, so it does get a little mopey and teen drama-y throughout.

    I never got into 'Friends' until last Fall semester of college, and I love it. I always chalked it up to be a 'girly show,' didn't think it'd be for me, but it's hilarious. My one buddy - big, muscular Native American, very talented lacrosse player, a manly man - says it's his favorite show and has seen each episode around 50-100 times. He's a ridiculously big fan of it.

    I enjoyed it first time round and it was rediscovered by my daughters on
    Comedy Central, and I ended up watching them all over again. :D they

    Been catching up recently with ITV's Agatha Christie's Marple. For some reason I missed these on original transmission, can't think why. My mum used to love a 'good murder' and I used to enjoy watching such as these with her. Really like the Geraldine McEwan ones, there's always a twinkle in her eye. Great tv.

    The Professionals Series III on Blu Ray

    This is a completely new viewing experience. They have outdone themselves in bringing the original material to High Definition. Incredible.

    Always loved that show, saw it first in the mid eighties when it was hugely popular on Swiss TV.

    I had a crush on Bodie back then :))

    The show still holds up very well nowadays, looks bloody perfect in crystal clear HD and it was a very well written show. Great cast.

    I can't wait for Series IV to be released...

    Yeah, she's great. And last night's story also featured some bloke called, Dalton, Timothy Dalton.

    Just finished "Inferno". One of the best Pertwee story, I daresay. Long, but not a single wasted moment.

    Well, years too late I finally got around to starting THE WIRE. For some reason I just never got around to it before, despite all my friends and family telling me how awesome it is and the fact that I was even ON it a few times (I live near Baltimore and they were always looking for extras)

    Not sure what the hell I was waiting for but this show ROCKS. I'm so mad at myself too- in the first two seconds I recognized Dominic West (who I now know from many movies). Then it hit me-I remembered I saw him IN PERSON multiple times during filming but back then I had no idea who he was!!! It was the summer of 2003 when I filmed my stuff and just never heard of the guy. I'm kicking myself here!

    If there's one good thing about beginning a show years after it's over with, it's this: I'm up to episode 7 and I know I still have LOTS to go!

    I'm just getting started with Agatha Christie's Poirot which is now on Netflix (or at least a good amount of episodes are). After watching the first three episodes I can say that while the show can get a bit cheesy here and there, this David Suchet is incredible as Hercule Poirot. I understand that the show evolves as time goes on and I'm excited to see how that plays out.

    Cracking intro sequence, also.
