I was just thinking yesterday that a return to Greece would be lovely. We only really saw Corfu, one of the Greek islands in the film version of For Your Eyes Only. Prior to that the only time Bond was in Greece proper was in Kingsley Amis's Colonel Sun. It would be nice to see Bond in Athens like he was in that novel, perhaps snooping around the Acropolis and other such structures of Ancient Greece. It would make a welcome change from the overuse of Italy as a location in the more recent Craig Bond films.

I agree. Greece has lots of character.

    Argentina/Buenos Aires
Poland for some Cold War feels
    Singapore

Begging for a proper casino scene in one of those locations.

Bond among British and German tourists reserving their deck chairs by putting their towels upon them before breakfast? Drinking themselves mindless by imbibing sangria through straws starting at noon?

Just kidding, the nature around this is worth a look at.

Bond‘s beach towel would unfold itself and sport the Union Jack, of course!

I think I'd be less picky about the location if we managed to get another film that was mostly contained within that one country, exploring its culture and people and not a mere flash of big tourist destinations.

Are there any locations from the Fleming books that hasn't been used up to this day?

    Aside from Seychelles?

Ottawa in FYEO. The Adirondacks in TSWLM.

    New York? The reptile house?

Anyway, after our holiday visit, I'd love to see Bond chase through the old city of Lisbon, perhaps after a high-speed chase over the bridge and through the many sharp-turning highways of the city. It is really spectacular.

There's enough spectacular nature close by too, and some of the world fair buildings could be used as lair for a villain, with quite some spectacular architecture.

    There must be others...

Hahaha that sounds like the best pre title sequence yet doesn't it?

I'd like them to go somewhere new: Poland, Bhutan, and of course The Seychelles.

We won't see Argentina, I'm afraid. But I wouldn't hate it if they went back to Brazil. It's such a massive country.

Whatever location we're in for Bond 26, I hope they give us time to breathe there so we can get a feel for it.
That's what I love about Dr No so much, you feel like you're in Jamaica, same with Thunderball and the Bahamas

Think of a better way to use Sagrada Familia in Spain in a Bond film.
Think of a scene where it could work.

Still keen for a bit of Singapore, knowing it would be expensive to film there. Between futuristic architecture and lush jungle, I'm sure there's enough diversity for an extensive use of this locale, plus there are countless abandoned, overgrown, and (wait for it) supposedly haunted ruins if you like a touch of supernatural with your Bond.

M: Bond, you're on the next plane to Singapore. A termination warrant has been issued for a Mr. Wrigley.

Bond: I want to know why.

M: It's a bit murky, but it appears he chewed gum.

Well Bond might drop a droll line or two about caning there.

Didn't know that about the gum. Seems like more of a problem for MacGyver, or Bubble-Blow-Seven and Chew Mee evading the authorities in Chuddy Chuddy Bang Bang.

Going Europe again, do you Bond should return to Germany again?

Only two Bond films so far had been shot there: Octopussy and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Do you think it's not given enough due?

Did TLD not have parts of it filmed in Germany? Remember reading that DAF did too but could be wrong.

But yes, I can see Bond going back to Germany and think that’d be good.

The scene of Bond watching Peter Franks casket be loaded onto the plane in DAF were filmed in Germany.
But not exactly using Germany as a locale.

Only learnt about it myself about a year ago.
I’d be happy to see Bond in a non European location.
Africa, USA, Asia, Middle East…so long as the location is used well.
SF didn’t really go to Shanghai or use it.
In the older films the location was a character. And the films showcased the country or city.
I think QOS is probably the best we’ve got for a long time.

I would not mind Bond coming to Germany again. There are a few internationally known festivals (street carnival in Cologne or Duesseldorf, Octoberfest in Munich) that would be visually appealing backdrops. Otherwise there are a few stunning castles along the Rhine and in middle and southern Germany. And Berlin of course has its share of iconic buildings. Nature-wise, there are spectacular gorges near Garmisch and Oberstdorf as well as some very scenic lakes like Koenigssee in Berchtesgarden. And check out Bastei Bridge in Saxony. I will not post pictures here, this just goes to show that there are many stunning locations.
  • Do a circuit. Start off in France, spy in Geneva, ski in the Alps, and have a finale in the port of Hamburg. Ending in London with a pat on the back and a briefing about his next mission in South East Asia.

I'm really hoping for something new like Poland... Krakow, Wrocław, Gdansk all have tons of character and feel like they're straight out of some espionage story, and returning to Eastern Europe indirectly brings Bond back to his Cold War roots.

Otherwise we need some non European locations like Singapore, Brazil, or India.

Agreed on Poland and its Cold War feel, and given current Russian threats, timely.

I would like to see Bond go to new and less explored (onscreen) countries--give me a Bhutan or a Finland--but that being said, Brazil is always welcome!

Hear hear! But if it has to be Germany, please, Munich.
