Close enough. @ShakenNotStirred , there's nothing definitive, so I'm not going to name names, but the style, the content, the concerns, the indignation, the voice, the point of origin and a few other tidbits are reminiscent of a past member who has a appeared under several monikers. His reaction to my taking down of his "Open Letter" (in a private message to me) made the point moot and the detective work unnecessary.
  • Cheers, guys. I guess he must be that bored!

Hi everyone, long-time lurker here. I've been visiting the forum for about a year following the progress of NTTD.

I'm a fan of the more neglected corners of Bond - the graphic novels (Dynamite or otherwise), video games and some of the continuation novels in particular. As well as the films and Fleming, obviously.

I've also recently tried my hand at fanedits, specifically trying to create Timothy Dalton's 3rd Bond using footage from other films.

Anyway, hi! I'm looking forward to joining in.

Welcome @Klaus_Doberman good to see another Dalton fan.
  • Thanks @Resurrection and @BMW_with_missiles - much appreciated.

I must admit, if I could change anything Bond-related, I'd love to have seen a follow-up game to Bloodstone, and a 3rd film for Tim. But you can't always get what you want, I guess.

Welcome @Klaus_Doberman! Tell me, do you have any experience with the James Bond 007 Gameboy game?
  • Thanks @NickTwentyTwo!

I'm afraid I don't. I didn't even know it existed. Worth seeking out?

I think it is. Maybe it hasn't aged too well, but I think it encapsulates Bond more than some of the games that just focus on shooting everything. I haven't played every Bond game, and some of the more modern ones I understand feature casino/card game segments which I think is really cool, so maybe I'm giving the Gameboy game too much credit but I still like it a lot!
  • Sounds great, I’ll take a look. Thanks man.

I'm surprised there isn't an "Animals Only Club" thread yet.
  • Ha! I’m guessing there’ll be some Tigers and Swanns too.

There is a dragon loose too so you better watch out! ;)

Seriously though, welcome aboard @Klaus_Doberman. May you always enjoy your time here. Any fan of the more neglected corners of Bond is always welcome here!

It's great to have another fan of the Bond continuation novels on board! What are your favourites? Also great to have another Dalton fan on here. :)

    Ha!
Thanks for the kind welcome guys.

I particularly enjoy the continuation novels set in the Fleming timeline. I know it doesn’t get a lot of love on here, but I really enjoyed Solo. Was really interesting to see Bond in Africa. I also have a big soft spot for John Pearson’s 007 biography. Love the sense of mischief of the central idea, and there are some cracking little adventures in there.

My favourite Gardener is Icebreaker, though I haven’t read many yet. And haven’t got on to Benson yet, but I will.

I’ve also recently read The Killing Zone, which I know isn’t really an official continuation at all. That’s where the name is from.

Always good to meet a fellow canine, @Agent_99!

And thanks. I popped the link for my Dalton project in the Bond 17 trailer thread, but let me know if you can’t find it.
