Neal Purvis Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth will be writing and the announcement will be Febuary or March. (my guess)

I think this is a bit too optimistic/fast. First they have to find a new partner studio, that may be done by February/March. Then they can maybe start trowing ideas around. I don't think DC is going to have an answer for them before Jun/July. When they know his final answer, it's either search for new director or for the new Bond. With all that in place then we can expect some news about writers.
    Off course, my guess.

QOS crap script is 100% HAGGIS so he won't be back. I smell P&W will do the ground work again. I think they already are.

Didn't Haggis write some contrived plot for QoS involving Vesper's baby or something?

He did. Bond discovered he had a kid. It was a major plot point.

Bring him back, and next thing you know, Blofeld will be his uncle or something.

My gut tells me they won't drop John Logan just yet. He'll return in a duo along with Jez Butterworth. Yet again, I have not read the said sheer awfulness that is the first Spectre draft.

That would have been bad. Makes Bond and Blofeld being brotherly acquaintances much better. :))

You know? When Skyfall was out and EON was preparing for the fourth entry in Craig's tenure, we knew Craig was going to return. But, at this point, I've grown uncertain of both the possible options of whether we would be seeing him back or not. Sort of reminds me of the time how everyone was certain that Brosnan was going to return for his fifth outing, but we were all surprised instead to have Craig on board. What if Craig decides to leave? I really doubt the next actor will carry on with the continuity of the Craig Bond saga and begin right in the middle of Bond's career without specific dates in order to let the next actors keep the timeline going without questions... Like the pre-reboot timeline did.

    Logan won't be around.

Maybe an idea and first draft from purvis and wade and the jet butter worth

Mendes is a fine director and listening to him talk is full of good ideas and character arcs. The problem is he talked s good game with SP but the script didn't deliver.

Directing wise If Craig won't return unless Mendes is directing Fine but I would Hope Craig would be willing to work with other directors.

I'd hope that, too - and indeed I'd assume he would. Weird if not.

That sounds crazy. Any more info on this or how far along this idea was?

It was quickly thrown away by Babs and Michael.
  • *He* didn't have a kid. Vesper Lynd had a son.

Get Brad Bird to direct, The cast of SPECTRE to return, Michael Giacchino in the composer's chair and you have magic ready to bloom.

    A big YES! to this

I want to see Blofeld tattoo "spy" onto Bond's hand like in Casino Royale.

It would be cool to have him marked like he was in the novels, and a tattoo is easily enough removed, but we'd have at least one film of Bond with his "scar."

Why not an actual scar? Better than a tattoo any day.

Because it would just become a continuity error.

A tattoo the filmmakers don't have to commit to after one film.

Some skin did cover up the scar on Bond's hand after the events of Casino Royale. As far as I recall, it wasn't easily noticeable kind of thing in the books, either. Personally, I don't think it would be a big problem.

He contract do 1 more after Skyfall. I hope he come back in Bond 25.

He has a rolling contract, but he is not obligated to return.

He was contract to do 2 more after Skyfall not just 1. Sorry about that mistake.

I don't blame Haggis for his baby plot. The producers need to brief their writers on simple don'ts; such as no James Bond code name and Bond should not be a parent. It's not terribly difficult to come up with certain stipulations that won't impede the writing creative process of a good story. It'll save time and disappointments for everyone involved.

Well it wouldn't be Bond's kid, just Vesper's. But it's very close to the opening of The Bourne Ultimatum when Bourne goes back to tell the daughter of his first assassination how her parents really died, which is what pisses me off most about the thought of introducing Vesper's child to the film.

It really is a terrible idea, Bond's kid or not.

I just don't want kids to be part of the plot full stop.

I just want this series to get new great writers and to give us an incredibly gripping story. No pretense and no bs.

I was wondering... We've seen Bond get missions and go through adventures all over the whole series... Suppose we got an older Bond in concept (we've got many films where Sherlock Holmes was advanced in age), how about having him becoming a spymaster, not necessarily M (even though I wouldn't say no to it, and no, I'm not channeling the 1967 satire), and get control of a large spy group and help it fight enemy forces, for instance? I wouldn't mind to see Bond being in a Jim Phelps kind of role.
