  • That is a good question, to be fair. I don't know the answer. So many previously reliable box office brands bombing recently is a worry though. It's hard to see a pattern to it.
  • I genuinely think that for, say, Carver, it absolutely works!
  • Yes I haven’t rewatched any Jodie ones either: I thought they were terrible but I like that they’re not entirely ignoring everything which happened in them. RTD is actually finding the drama in Chibnall’s ideas (like the orphan stuff) which Chibnall…
  • I watched the first one: it’s very slight and silly but it’s an introductory episode and it does a very good job of setting up the new leads who are both fantastic. Looking forward to the second one today. What’s the retcon?
  • You can't pretend it doesn't work every time :D https://twitter.com/tomsmason91/status/1788263190926708784
  • Yes, no Bondola I'm afraid. A Tuk Tuk at least though, so that should shake them off.
  • If their promo graphic is anything to go by the list of planned vehicles is: AMC Hornet Aston DB5 (GF) Aston DB5 (NTTD) Aston DBS (OHMSS) Aston V8 Aston Vanquish Aston DBS (CR) Aston DBS (QoS) Aston DB10 Aston DBS Superleggera (NTTD) BM…
  • As Imran mentioned above, Mini GT's 1:64 range is shaping up well: https://www.facebook.com/minigtofficial (Although I hope they sort out that incorrect bodykit on the Aston V8)

  • Ha! Yeah it's not quite there- perhaps someone with could put better prompts in than I did!
  • Maybe we can make our own? I've tried using Suno, song-generating AI software- I gave it the prompt of an upbeat brassy Bond theme and it gave me 'Diamonds and Danger' :D https://suno.com/song/43350fde-3aee-4528-93ec-6c6d68e2b214 Have a go: l…

  • Isn't 3 films and 2 TV series (plus a cartoon) exactly what they released last year? And they were still rubbish. (I didn't watch Loki, maybe that was okay. But I'm tired of it all now)
  • Actually sorry, I'm misremembering - it's just the shots of the banner (the guys setting it up, Tim swinging on it) which look to be on a set: you're right that the bike stunt is on location. I know what you mean about it not being great. Perhaps…
  • bondywondy wrote: » The deleted Tangier bike scene in The Living Daylights was all real and there was no intention to destroy property. Well, it was shot on a (slightly unconvincing) set in a studio!

  • I kind of think there are plenty of films set in the US: I prefer Bond to have a bit more of an exotic or unusual flavour. When I think of the Bonds set in the US they're not often my favourite scenes, although LALD does it well.
  • Great stuff; thank you, I'll try and think one up quickly.

  • I guess the shot of the two goons looking rather puzzled at the OTT show of force does kind of hint at it being an intentional gag. Maybe the DEA guys should have been a bit more gung-ho and the film laughed at them a bit more: rather as Grand L Bus…

  • I think as you say 007HallY, the thing the films add is a sense of self-awareness. Which to be honest I kind of find a bit more grown-up than Fleming a lot of the time, if that's the right way to phrase it. His books take themselves seriously in the…

  • I guess we see Bond airside I.e on the tarmac of an airport in all three; maybe CR is the odd one out as he’s not catching a plane?
