I just noticed you launched it after I made that comment, so apologies. If everyone's fine with it (particularly since it's already been made), we can just go ahead and play that, and let the Trailer Elimination Game come next? Like I said, this is my first time getting back into the games in a couple of years, so it's up to you.

I launched it but no ones voted yet so I'm not sure how we should proceed...

I'll go vote. It's no big deal, I doubt anyone will be upset over starting that one. Like I said, we can always do the Trailer Elimination Game once the next game ends.

I'd be fine with that. If nobody minds, I'll run the trailer game when the time comes since I was the first to suggest it.

I posted the trailer game last year, but if you're eager to run it go for it!

@Mansfeld Sorry, I had no idea. If you want to run it I'd have no problem.

You can run it if you want to. I wasn't sure whether or not it should include teasers, which would make it a much larger game. Though in the case of Spectre, the teaser seems to be more popularly received.

I think it would be best to judge each film based on their entire trailer campaign.

I was leaning that way too. If anything, only teasers that are considered to be more memorable than the full theatrical trailers themselves (I.e. Brosnan GE introduction teaser).

The posters game included some alternatives that were heavily promoted. I guess it depends on what everyone else wants.

If we proceed with every Bond Trailer ever made, that could easily make for a game over 100 entries, and even if we started the game with 10 points each, with the present rules it would take just 5 voters to illuminate one film. That is not right!! I think each film should be boiled down to two trailers AT MOST! if not one trailer each.

Anyway, trailers would still be my least anticipated elimination game. There are much better games out there like "Bonds Best Shags", or "Best Bond Kills", or "Best Set Piece", or "Best Bond/M Scene", or "Best Bond Q Scene", or "Best Bond Parody Film", and so on and so on...

If we're doing trailers, what do we think of this list? I decided to include memorable taglines/quotes from each of the film's trailers.

    GF - "James…Bond…Back…In action" - 15
TB- "Here comes the biggest Bond of all" - 15
YOLT - "You Only Live Twice, and twice is the only way to live" - 15
OHMSS - "All the time in the world" -15
DAF - "Sean Connery is Back" - 15
LALD - "Roger Moore as James Bond 007" - 15
TMWTGG - "The stakes are sky high" - 15
    TSWLM - "It's the biggest…It's the best…It's Bond and Beyond" - 15
    MR - "It's out of this world" - 15
FYEO - "This Bond is For Your Eyes Only - 15
OP - "Bond hits an all time high" - 15
AVTAK - "In a world with high adventure, the highest number is still 007" - 15
TLD - "He lives for danger…he lives for the moment…He lives on the edge" - 15
    LTK - "I'm more of a problem eliminator" - 15
GE - "You were expecting someone else?" - 15
    TND - "Bond…You know the rest" - 15
TWINE - "There is still one number you can always count on" - 15
    DAD- "Betrayed…Captured…Abandoned" - 15
    CR - "Yes, considerably" - 15
QOS - "You don't have to worry about me" - 15
SF - "Some men are coming to kill us…we're gonna kill them first" - 15
    SP - "I don't stop to think about it" - 15

Taglines from posters and/or teasers? Excellent choice. But random quotes from trailers? I don't know...

Haven't watch the trailers for years. Hopefully they are on youtube.

The trailer game is a great idea. Probably be worth popping trailer links in the first post so we can all refresh our memories of them.

"More exciting than the first". Wow, the 60s really had a way with words.

What do they say these days in trailers instead?

Thanks. I can't remember watching any trailers other than bond for years, so that passed me by.

Hopefully if we do this, everyone playing will have the good sense to go back and watch the trailers first.

All of the trailers are uploaded on YouTube in HD, save one that is unfortunately LD. I posted them all in here pre-Spectre if you want to save the time getting the links.

With the release of the official SPECTRE trailer within the month, I'd like to see official trailers added to the list of nominees. There are HD videos of each one except A View To A Kill and Die Another Day for which I found the best version available. List below:

    1. Dr. No (1962)

    2. From Russia With Love (1963)

    3. Goldfinger (1964)

    4. Thunderball (1965)

    5. You Only Live Twice (1967)

    6. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)

    7. Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

    8. Live And Let Die (1973)

    9. The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)

    10. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

    11. Moonraker (1979)

    12. For Your Eyes Only (1981)

    13. Octopussy (1983)

    14. A View To A Kill (1985)

    15. The Living Daylights (1987)

    16. Licence To Kill (1989)

    17. Goldeneye (1995)

    18. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

    19. The World Is Not Enough (1999)

    20. Die Another Day (2002)

    21. Casino Royale (2006)

Works for me, though what is it we're voting for, exactly? The way the trailer is pieced together/edited?

That, the music, and the trailer that got you the most hyped.

Editing, music, and which is the most exciting/built the most hype. Sounds good! That list looks fine to me.

I thought it would be a great game because the qualities of a trailer often do not correlate to the film itself. Framing a two hour feature into three minutes can skew every component of the product to create a unique artistic experience.
