Try supporting a different independent bookseller next time.

Well, he's the only one within walking distance and runs a book club with free wine, so I'd like to keep him (and maybe try to educate him)!

But yes, how can anyone (especially a bookseller) not find this exciting?

    Free wine? Nice!

Very upmarket! I'm sure that Kingsley Amis would have approved of this bookshop. ;)

That I'm sure would depend upon the quality of the wine.

I didn‘t think Solo was a bad Bond novel but Trigger Mortis felt way more like Fleming when reading it. Besides Colonel Sun it was so far the only novel I thought could‘ve been written by Fleming himself. Looking forward to the new one ...

I wouldn't complain about the wine, as long as it's free! Must be a great bookshop. :-)

I think he’s accidentally ended up in the off licence.

It's The Infuriator. Just what you need to fuel an argument about books.

Waterstones list it as being published on 31/05/2018. The listing of that site which I won't name, might be for the paperback.

It does happen that books have a different release date in the UK and the US. So that could be a possibility.

I recently started the audiobook series (nearly finished FRWL now) and of course read the Graphic Novel, so I may be Casinoed out.

However if it leads directly into it I may have to read it again:-)

A great question but don’t forget it’s IFP running this. They’ll announce it two months after the launch !

Yes, valentinzukovsky, PussyNoMore plans to do exactly that. It will be a fabulous way to asses its authenticity and merit.

I'm aware of these. So for the first/black one, it still says "Cover Coming Soon".

    So that's not a cover?

The black/red one was just a teaser - which is a shame because I really like it. Simple and bold.
  • That black, white, and red cover with the spades is massively better than the actual cover (which looks better suited for some sort of boring travel book). What kind of an audience did they test these covers out on?

    No one, I suspect.

Actually, I like both covers. I like the casino motif on the black/red cover, and the bullet/boat on the other. I would be happy with either cover, and happier if one is chosen for the first edition, and the other chosen for a future edition. What can I say, I love collecting the books in their many editions and covers.

Agree. Really like both covers. Hope someone does an interview with the designer(s) so we can read about the process behind the cover design - and possibly if Horowitz himself was involved, as well.

God knows but PussyNoMore would advise them for free.
He really does wish they’d get their act together.
It’s a sad day at the office when the place holder is correctly deemed to be better than the real deal !
Thank heavens for Folio and Fay Dalton at least they know what they are doing.
Chopping and Hawkey will be turning in their graves.
A bullet out of a gun barrel that turns into a boat. Mon Dieu, what next ?
The Wizard will be getting one of his friends in from Jackie to design the next one !
