    Got it.

    One thing that always stays the same is that the PTS is the best scene. A series highlight.

    I do underestimate the first half of MR. It doesn't get overly silly yet, and really has the feel of any other good Bond classic.

    Glad to read that. I've always liked MR personally. It's not a film to take seriously. The production qualities, location photography and sets in themselves are exceptional and everyone is just having a blast.

    Yeah. I went in taking it less seriously so that helped. I’m having more fun than usual with it! Lots of good moments really.

    Broccoli saw the blockbuster world had changed forever with SW. He also was still in the process of re-establishing the Bond brand positioning post Saltzman. So he decided to go all in with an outlandish entry. I'm glad we have it in the pantheon, just as I'm glad we have QoS, which imho similarly capitalized on a trend of the time (Bourne) and LTK which did the same with the gritty and violent actioners which were the rage in the late 80s.

    I have always liked the second-half a lot better.

    I think the first 20 minutes are the strongest. Then the middle is particularly good too, up until around the jail scene or so.

    I agree @FoxRox, TLD is quite a solid Bond entry. What ruins it for me is Kara-- I like the idea of her character, but, man, physically she's skeletal and creepy. Forget Goldfinger's Laser-Pulveriser, Kara's hips and pelvic bone are enough to destroy 007 for good.

    Plus-- she must've been an only child
