CR over LALD Even easier.
NSNA is great Sunday night viewing, but TB is an adventure I would love to experience in person (except for getting shot in the foot)
CR > LALD
LALD: Great debut for Rog'. A Bond film with voodoo, an amazing score and memorable characters.
CR: A modern classic, a new Bond golden age. That is, a golden age that lasts for one film.
LALD over CR by the very slimmest of margins. This is making me want to do a re-ranking before the year is out.
LALD
TB
and
CR
Both are in my top 006 Bond films.
Nice; good choices for favorites.
Even though I love LALD, CR is one of my favourite films. I have a soft spot for NSNA but it can't compete with TB.
Bond in the Bahamas double bill
TB crushes NSNA. Far better in every aspect.
CR wallops LALD. Apart from the eccentricity factor and theme song, LALD is outmatched (and in many areas outclassed) in everything. Fairly mediocre entry can't stand a chance against the series' finest showing.
TB v NSNA = TB: Why go for the cheap Chinese imitation over the real thing? Not a big fan of TB at all but it trumps NSNA in every dept apart from Largo who is terribly underwhelming in the original but manically unhinged in a fabulous performance by Klaus Maria Brandauer. One of the most underrated villains and possibly a top half ranking if up against all the EON villains.
LALD v CR= CR. Close to perfection v a slice of camp from early 70s 'we're running out of ideas here' Hamilton trilogy.
TB & CR.
Both favourites of mine.
CR is currently #1 in my rankings.
TB is currently #5 in my rankings.
LALD is at #14 (recently moved up 3 places so is moving in the right direction.)
TB
CR
TB is Connery and the 60s.
CR doesn't have Connery but otherwise it's flawless and imagining Sean playing the part, it would even come closer to OHMSS which is my favorite Bond film.
Casino Royale (2006): The greatest Bond film ever made.
LALD: Slightly better in my opinion...
Well said.
Casino Royale over Live and Let Die.
Casino Royale: quintessential Bond.
CR - I really enjoy the heck out of LALD, but CR is on another level.
I figure the Bahamas section in CR was meant to be a tribute to TB(the location, Bond beating the villain at the gaming tables and winning his woman).
Thunderball
Casino Royale
CR beats LALD 24-3
Round 4:
FRWL VS MR
and
OHMSS VS QOS
