Not sure where else to put this, I saw a few other threads about obtaining airsoft or replica..Does anyone actually own a real walther ppk? Are they hard to obtain?

I don't own a real one but in my general area I've seen plenty for sale. Though the ones I usually see are stainless steel variants.
  • I have one! Technically not the one Bond used, but a .22

Still a real gun that I had to wait 30 days to take home though! I love mine; I keep it right under the bed within reach
  • My great grandfather did have a Walther P38.

I own a real one. A real bb version. What? Don't laugh, it's real! It exists! And woe be to the as*hole that breaks into my home not wearing eye protection! ;)

I do own a Umarex Walter ppk. Close enough I guess. I have seen a few in Texas in some gun stores.

I'd love to own one, but they aren't on the California roster of approved handguns, so obtaining one would mean tracking down a nice used one in good shape sold before it was no longer allowed for new sale. Due to this, these guns command quite a premium in this state. There is a clone however, that is CA legal; https://bersa.eagleimportsinc.com/bersa/firestorm-380

That said, I don't currently own any actual firearms, and as my primary reason for purchasing a gun would be home defense, I won't be starting with anything less powerful than a 9mm.

    You must be an American.

    I mentioned above that it's a .22
They had said in the movies once or twice that Bond's fired 7.65mm ammunition, which I didn't really know what was. Turns out, it's the European equivalent of a .32 (Just like Kersey's gun in the first Death Wish, @Murdock !)

    Here's the difference in size:

As you can see, the .22 is a cute wee little fellow! When you fire it, you hardly feel it!

I rather like this shot-- we managed to get the muzzle flash!

I disagree.. That thread is a little off topic this is direct. It's about actually owning a PPK. Plus that thread is what six months old?

Not an actual firearm, but on Friday I bought a Umarex Walther PPK/S Co2 air pistol for my Bond collection. I already have a plastic P99, with '007' written in gold down the slide, but this PPK/S puts it to shame.

I was just researching the PPK/S and here are a few videos on it. This is the .380 caliber.
This guy goes into nice detail about the gun in the first video, and then in the second, he and some gal pals do target shooting with it with different types of ammo.
