I pray, against all odds, that Maddy's not in B25... Four years is a long time, and, as I've said time and again, by the time B25 rolls about, she'll be remembered as just another Bond girl, driving off with 007 at the end of the film.

    That's it.

I'd be happier to have Maddy back on board if only the two leads showed actual chemistry-- and I don't fault DC for this. It just seemed like Lea was out of her depth-- talking about how cocktails can get her in trouble, and then ordering a dirty martini... She was an actress not fit for the role (the polar opposite is the quirkiness of Eva Greene as a performer, and how she was able to tap into the complexities of Vesper Lynn).

I can't stand Seydoux's Madeleine myself either, but given they have Craig back, why not go all the way and clean up the mess. Perhaps Waltz and Seydoux can both redeem themselves in the minds of viewers who weren't impressed first time around. Otherwise, I don't see the point really.

Man this is a really hard thing to do or think about. To think that James has been through losing Vesper,Mathis, M and in the next one potentially Medeline is hard. In the Words of James on the Train with Swann ''....i don't know''.

Another idea: To engineer a scene where his last line is "yes, considerably" delivered in the same dry manner as we first met him.

But in all retrospect i think they should end it like this. after successfully destroying Spectre and any remnants such as Quantum along with it once and for all Bond and Madelines Wedding plans are finally on.

[Bond,Madeline,M,Q AND Tanner all stand at a Private Ceremony]
[Camera zooms in on Bond and Madeline]
Preist: We are gathered here today in the sight of God ....to Bring together a man and a woman who's love knows no limit. Now to let the beloved speak.

Madeline: [Pauses ans Smiles] James ....you are the love of my life. You are my everything, out of my whole Life nothing has ever gone right. Until Now. Your the Spy who Loved me and i wouldn't trade you for anything else in this World.

[Bond smiles with his peirceing blue eyes looking into Madelines]

Bond: You once told me i had a choice ....whether i wanted to spend my life hunting and being hunted[he grabs her hand] and i can tell you now that I've done enough of that ......and i chose you.

Priest: By the power vested in me i now pronounce..[ Bond and Madeline Kiss passionately.

M: Husband and Wife[q,tanner and money penny laugh]

M: So....now that your finished Bond where will you go?
[He looks at Madeline and she looks back at him]

[Cut scene to a newly built log cabin in Scotland and Bond and Madeline look up at the Skyfall statue]

Madeline: Are you sure this where you want to start a new life?

[Bond looks at her smiling and looks back out] Come on.

[[The Camera pan rises behind them as they walk down the hill together to the Brand New Skyfall Lounge] Roll Credits.

Bond is staring at a beach, as the waves crash in front of him. He's all alone, taken for dead after a fight with Blofeld. He has lost his memory. From his pocket he takes out a postcard of some exotic location.

Or you could see him, in a Elvis costume, working his way up in Vegas. He winks at the camera, as he recognises Blofeld is alive too. The villain is standing across the street, with a cowboy hat or completely in drag. Maybe both. "Everybody's Talking" starts playing.

The next Bond movie offers an opportunity for the writers to create a final scene that says farewell to the DC era,

how do we visualise DC's final scene?

My idea: I want Bond and M standing on the pavement between Buckingham Palace and Green Park in the Summer. There is a basic debrief and M senses that Bond is slightly deflated or unsatisfied.

"Bond, something we don't discuss or refer to. These people"

M gestures and we see vignettes of the public enjoying the sunshine. Children, tourists, etc

"If they could... if they knew...everything you've done. They would thank you.

    Bond pauses and looks around

    "And she would aswell"

    M gestures to Buckingham Palace

    "But I can"

    M warmly shakes Bond's hand

"Untill the next time double O seven"

    "Untill the next time, M"

Bond smiles and then walks away. Zoom out as he merges in with the crowd within the park.
    I like it.

Well said. Interestingly we're not even at the half way point between SPECTRE and B25's release, and I think the audience has probably forgotten about Maddy already.
I already posted some jokey comment regarding Craig's final scene, but the more I contemplate this, the more I feel his last scene needs to have the same kind of punch CR's had. It has to be something bad ass that sends the audience with an upbeat note.
At the same time, I'm thinking if Mickey G and Barbara do sell after this film, it should also be powerful enough to be the final scene in the franchise as well since B26 would essentially be someone else's franchise to do with what they please.
The final Craig scene really needs to pack a wallop.

If EON sells, would you still call it B26?

Not bad, but I felt a small tinge of Nolan Bat/Bourne (Supremacy)/QoS when reading it.

I'd rather they not delve into the heroism/patriotism stuff too much personally. I feel we've had a bit much of that recently. While he is those things, he's also a man with many flaws and vices who kills for a living and that is also part of his (subconscious) appeal to the masses. It's part of his mystique. He's not Batman.

I'd personally like them to end it on a bombastic high note rather than a sombre or introspective one. Something like they did with CR. Something essentially Bondian cool.

@bondjames I'll take that as a compliment. If it's good enough for SF, its good enough for the next Bond. DC Bond is introspective, save the more upbeat Bond for the next actor IMHO

Fair enough @patb. I suppose you're right. I'm just so done with this 'super'hero line they've been taking for some time now (it's crowding out the rest of the character traits for me).

Still you're right - best to leave the upbeat rogue for the next chap.

Its a tough one, thoughout his Bond stint. IMHO, DC has been at his best within the character when down and glum. As long as this fits the script and its not too dark, then I thinkl it works and SF is the best example (you can still have humor but dark, sacastic humour). I too am looking forward to more brightness within Bond but I dont think it sits well with DC.

Seems right to me that the last scene we see him is is typical and represenative of the character he have seen him play over the years. Can you imagine him leaving with a joke or a pun and it didn't work? ("keeping the British end up") it would be cringe worthy and a horrible way to say goodbye to DC. He needs to stick to what he does best.

Yes, I think you're right. Let him go out on a note which reflects the tone of his era.

Maybe the patriotism sits wrong with you @bondjames, but I just liked the warmth and maturity of @patb's ending... Better than ending on Craig walking into the sunset all covered in blood and dirt, scowling, after lying to M's face for no reason.

One thing I really don't want to see is the Bond theme ramping up in the final scene and then blasting over the end credits. Yawn. We've seen it before... 3 times now.

What's interesting to me, looking back over Craig's films, is that all of them have excellent tenure-ending, uh, endings.

The Casino Royale ending is perhaps the most inappropriate to change actors after, as it gets you properly excited for what's coming, but it'd still be a hell of a way to go out.

Quantum of Solace has a beautiful ending with Vesper's necklace in the snow. If Craig had done just two, that'd be a satisfying out.

Skyfall again gets you excited for what's coming, so maybe it'd work the least, but that has more to do with Mallory being the new M. than it does with Bond.

Spectre's finish was an excellent ending in general. The DB5 in the foggy blue hour of the morning with a lovely lady at his side and the Bond theme blaring.

Whatever they decide on for Craig's last I'm sure will be just as satisfying as what they've accomplished so far.

The one key thing I do not want to see from Bond 25 is a Bourne Ultimatum style ending. The rest of the movie could be better than CR and I'd still walk out hating it if they pulled some sort of did-he didn't-he die mysterious bullshit.

I want one last nice, satisfying moment with Craig.

OK, another attempt: (a little lighter in tone but still reflective)

Bond finished his debrief with M or kills the bag guy or leaves the girl , what ever he needs to do. He's in London. Its around 2am. He drives his Aston along the Mall and parks right in front of Buck Palace. He stands in front of the main gates and pulls a hip flask from his coat.

"Maam" , nodding and taking a sip. (a reference to OHMSS). He stands alone for a few seconds and is then joined by a tramp who stands next to him, looking towards the Palace.

The tramp salutes, slightly drunk: "God Save the Queen". Bond smiles and hands the tramp his flask,

"Here". The tramp takes a swig and offers to return the flask.

    "No, keep it."

    "You Sir, are a gentleman"

Big Ben rings out 2 O'clock.

"Whats the time?" says the tramp

"Time to go" says Bond, smiling.

He gets back into the Aston and drives into the night.

@patb, that's more to my tastes, but I still find it a bit pretentious with the Palace etc. Less so than the earlier version though which is why I prefer it.

@JWESTBROOK , I agree. They've been teasing out his ending for some time now but it has not come to pass. Perhaps with the next one, as expected.

@Milovy , I'm just waiting to see this iteration end it on a 'high' note in bed with someone (even if it's in his apartment). I don't think it's too much of a clash with the tone of the Craig era to have that kind of ending for once. I agree that the Bond theme blaring has been played out (including gunbarrel).

The end of each Craig film seems to be the end of... something. They all look like wrap-ups, ready to move onto something new, but that promise is never quite delivered on in the next film. I remember after each of them - CR, QoS, SF - people said "okay, next one will be a straightforward, classic formula Bond." And it never quite happened, although they tried with Spectre (and failed IMO, owing to elements like Bond going rogue and a personal connection with the villain, the inclusion of which almost seems like a compulsion at this point).

If anything, Spectre should have ended that way. Doesn't have to be corny, doesn't have to include a jokey one-liner. But I doubt the ending of Craig's era will be so low-key and unpretentious. For the first time, EON knows for sure their actor is quitting, so they will make a big deal out of it.

I just watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade again last weekend and we should all hope Bond 25 can pull of something on the level of Ford, Connery, Elliott, and Rhys-Davies literally riding off into the sunset without it feeling too pastiche.

Sadly they did have a " driving off in to the
Sunset " ending in Spectre. ....... So they'll
    Have to do another.

They're both in M's office, akin to the ending of SF.

M: "Ready for your next assignment?"
Bond, looking a bit confused: "I'd rather slash my wrists, sir."

    *cue Bond theme and credits*

I would say : nothing special at all.

No other Bond had a special send off,and Connery and Moore both knew that DAF & AVTAK were their last films.

Agreed, the Craig era is no different. Shouldn't be anything special or different.
