    James is presumed dead. Later, Madeleine tells a story to Mathilde, of how she met her father. And she takes her to the hotel in Italy — where they had a measure of happiness (just like White with her). But when they arrive — the clerk says her husband already checked in and has their keys. She opens the door, smiles. Mathilde runs into the room. Credits.
