    Post pipeline escape. It's the scene where Bond and Saunders are in the car and Bond's going on about how he kills professionals and that he'll thank M if he gets fired for not killing Kara.

    doubleoego, I should have included that scene in my choices "..whoever she was, I must have scared the living daylights out of her!" Great scene.

    Almost missed this. As with so many Bond films The Living Daylights has far more than just 3 great scenes. Having recently watched this movie I'm struggling to find three to pick.
    However, if it has to be done. I'd rather do it.

    Koskov's defection
    Bond on a mission in Bratislava to assist with the defection of a Russian General in the role of a sniper.
    The set up of Bond noticing Kara in the orchestra, and then sensing she's been set up when she reveals herself to be the sniper is wonderful. The stuffy by the numbers head of section, Saunders who seems to get off on the wrong foot with OO7 is also one of my favourite allies. The scene is full of tension and drama, set at night. It's old time spy drama at its best and all involved are wonderful.

    Pushkin interrogation
    If I had to pick only one scene to be my favourite, then this would be it.
    Bond as an assassin. Cold, in control and fully focused. Timothy Dalton excels here, aided too by the truly wonderful John Rhys Davis as Pushkin. As before the scene builds and builds with talk of what Bond is doing threatening Pushkin, to getting ready to murder him.
    "On your knees. Put your hands behind your back..."
    It's moments like this that are almost straight out of Fleming. No quips or gadgets. Just a cold hearted bastard doing his job.
    I love the line, "If I trusted Koskov we wouldn't be talking." And in view of what we've seen, we know this Bond is tough as nails, and very dangerous.
    Superb scene and one of the series best.

    Death of Saunders
    Having started off not really liking each other, the film builds the relationship of Bond and Saunders to the point where Saunders goes against his normal instinct of doing it by the book, and trusts Bonds instincts about Koskov.
    Meeting Bond at the Prater park in Vienna to aide him on his way to Tangier.
    As Saunders leaves wishing Bond good luck, Bond replies "Saunders....thanks." A genuine appreciation of each other has been formed, only to be broken seconds later as Saunders is brutally killed.
    The rage displayed by Dalton is fantastic as the balloon with Smiert Spionam floats by. This is for me what makes Dalton one of the best Bonds.

    The stunning PTS
    The fight at Blayden safe house between Necros and Green Four
    The Aston Martin escape. (The full car chase is just old fashioned fun, albeit OTT)
    The cargo net fight. (I'm not going to go over it again. You know I love it and regard it as the greatest stunt of all time)
    Bond and M. The briefing after Koskovs been snatched is one of the better Bond /M scenes since Connery and Bernard Lee.

    TLD is such a fantastic film from start to finish, very little to find negative. Stunning debut by Dalton. Such a pity he only made two.

    Again, very difficult to pick 3!!
    1. Bond refusing to take Dellas garter, and then reluctantly catching it as it reminds him
    of tracy!
    2. The whole seaplane sequence. Brilliant idea, brilliantly executed!
    3. Any scene with Sanchez/Bond. Davi and Dalton, Great Bond..Great villain!
    Honourable mentions, the truck chase finale, one of the best choreographed action scenes in the series, Q in his finest outing for 007, Carey Lowells sexy and under-rated Bond girl, Benicio Del Toros nasty henchman,in fact ALL of Sanchez henchmen .....and finally...the iguana!!

    oh, I always thought this scene is the worst scene in the whole film. I have always hated it but I know many people who really like it. So maybe I just need to watch it again and think about it....

    3. "Problem solver?" "More of a problem eliminator". Love that scene and the acting from both Davi and Dalton is perfect.

    Honorable mentions to Leiter's leg becoming shark meat and Dalton finding him and Della in their house. And just about every scene with Davi - he's amazing as Sanchez.

    Very weird that no one has mentioned the infamous head explosion - do we all agree that they went too far with that one?

    It was a bit excessive - it wasn't necessary at all to nail in the darker atmosphere of the film.

    I am still not entirely sure if they were right in including that in the film. It helps to unsettle the audience (LTK got increasingly unsettling as it went on) but I still feel that it goes too far for a Bond film somehow. Like it was quite senseless in a way. And yet I like the cocaine grinder sequence a lot. Hm.
