What about a big 'THANK YOU' letter for Babs and Michael? Signed by us all?

I was just thinking of this. I think the Bond producers deserve a little extra congratulations for the massive success of 'Skyfall'. And also, to encourage them to continue on the same high quality level. Is this a nice idea? Perhaps the owner and moderators of the website have some suggestions?

The 900 odd million dollars and counting is, thank you enough. With such huge returns that should be more than enough reason to ensure the standard if quality of the movies must be maintained or improved upon. Give us a good product that is marketed well and you will be rewarded.

Since 99% of the site has seen it and helped make it a hit I think that's thank you enough.

Agreed completely. If the success (both critical and financial) of CR wasn't enough then the even greater success with SF has cemented this as the new standard.

Thank dog for MGW, Babs, and DC. Please never retire... ;-)

Bob Paisley used to put the championship medals in a box and just dump them in the changing room for the players to take. No back slapping, no parties - the moment the title was won he started thinking about how to improve and do it again. That's how he built the most successful club in English history. And I'm sure Fergie is the same today.

Bond is back at the very top now but you don't stay there by sitting around drinking champagne being told how brilliant you are. SF was good but there is still room for improvement. EON should be kept on their toes to make Bond 24 as good or better not told how fantastic everything is and given an incentive to rest on their laurels.

Call me negative if you want but at my age the gaps between Bonds seem to be getting longer and I don't want to wait 3 or 4 years only to be rewarded with dross like DAD or rushed efforts like QOS again. Lets make SF a plateau not a peak.

When Babs and MGW retire I'll gladly say thank you for a job well done but when you're in the job you need pressure to keep delivering.

But I'm a miserable old Scrooge so by all means send them something to say thanks (as long as you specify it's for SF only. The 50th was a shambles).

Success breeds success, as they say, though hopefully not excess!

I personally already did it. By mail.
Good idea. There's (almost) no payment at thanking in general ! :)

I could make a letter design in a photo program, and I can put everyone's (who wants) names on there as signatures, and someone can print is out large and mail off to them. Good idea? :)

I could also put in your personal messages.

Same. Or we could just convince someone to pay post to send it to all of us ;)

JK, that is a good idea, so is this: a kickstarter? We wouldn't need to raise that much money, but that way we can all chip in. Maybe a gift as well of some sort?

Yea, good idea. If everyone agrees, I'll get on the letter. I'll post it for suggestions.
  • As Mallory once said, "A splendid idea." Whether the PM should be informed or not is entirely a different matter.
  • Sorry, I just have to pass on this one, but count me in if you you have something with multiple threats and Heavy cursing in the making!!

Works for me, I'd most certainly sign. I do think that the $900 million plus is already a thank you, but I wouldn't mind something even more personal.

I'd be happy to sign i loved the film and hope Bond 24 is even better, if people think this could help the next film being of the same if not better quality then i'm in.

I'll sign for sure. They made me cry, that counts for a lot in my book, regardless of Skyfall being a cracking great Bond film.

Why did you waste our time by responding? This is the problem starting up again, the negative people can't stay out of threads where they don't belong 8-|

I tried to make it gold, but this is the best I could do. Let's see what others think. :)

  • I'm in. They made me feel glad to be alive when I left the theater so it will be great to let them know about that. ;)

    In a word: AWESOME!

I think the text could be a tad more golden, but other than that, bloody fantastic!
