They really dodged a bullet. #:-S (do you see what I did there?) ;)
That's a bit like the book, he kills himself at the end of that.
I'm glad he survived. I think it's a better less depressing ending for the character, and we got sequels :D
I'd work your way through them. First Blood is still the best, the others are badass popcorn films but the first film actually had a good message and story to it.
Now I like Jason Statham, he's made some great action films, but this is nothing like Parker. I know this and I've read 1 Parker book years ago.

*Slight spoilers in the article*
Looks like everything else Statham has been in since The Transporter. Not that I have anything against Statham as an action hero, but that just isn't Parker.
It just so happens, that I recently posted a list of the Parker films (I was surprised that there wasn't one allready):

The Outfit is still my favourite.
Uhm Finger crossed for Jeremy Renner to play Macgyver

Good Jackie films :
Drunken Master and DM II
Project A and PA pt 2
Wheels on Meals (like "Way of Dragon" with bigger budget)
Armour of God
Rumble in the Bronx (another in the "Way" mould where the hero goes overseas to help)
Police Story III (Yeoh is def a huge plus and I enjoyed Yuen Wah's character Tiger too)
PS IV (Jackie goes to Oz , Ukraine.....a notch below III but still good)
New Police Story (among his best acting prolly)
Yep, looks like a proper sequel this time.
New Police story really suprised me, but in a good way. Showed Jackie could do serious and dark stuff too (most of his films normally have at least a bit of comedy).
\:D/
Now THAT is a Bond villain....check the 2nd picture , it's like he doesn't even have to act to look mean ;)

Nope, he looked definetely weird among all the other vampires who looked far more sexy that a Blond Cruise. Also having read the books before I saw the movie, I was more than dissapointed. Went as a chaperone along to the movie and was not amused. That said the soundtrack of that movie is amazing.

I really want see that (no guesses why), but I don't think it's showing near me. :-w
Anyone?
I have yet to see it, but I've heard a couple of people say that it's one of the most entertaining experiences they've had in theaters this year, which was surprising. To me, it looked like a film that you just go in to expecting pure fun, not to nitpick and destroy with complaints and shouts of unrealism. I don't do that for films, anyway, but you know what I mean.
if i was a gambling man I would say Justice League is coming out June 2015
