The Next Bond Era Predictions Game

Hello, I thought it would be fun and unique from the other threads to do a specific "prediction" game for the upcoming Bond actor's tenure.

Rules: try to keep each idea to one sentence, so no full pitches or paragraphs, please. Keep it short and to a point, like you grabbed a fact out of the future.

Goals: The goal here should be to have a bit of fun and/or introduce a bit your life into Bond's world in a believable way, perhaps. Another goal could be to try to introduce something new or unexpected but believable to the franchise. What would a modern Bond get up to? What have we not yet seen Bond do? What's left from the books, or the continuation novels, that you'd love to see?

An easy example: Bond will face a woman as a main villain. There, that one's take and out of the way. Now for something more creative.

I'll start with just one prediction to set the mood:

James Bond will play mahjong in a high stakes scene/setting.

Have fun!

Either Q/Moneypenny/Leiter will have a big part in the storyline like M's in SF.

Blofeld will be brought back, within the next three movies, with some more creative thinking behind his portrayal.

A pair of films will be filmed back to back.

A continuation novel will be adapted, but not Colonel Sun.

Gregg Wilson will take his father's place, within the next 2 films.

Bond 26 in 2025 or 2026. Delay of NTTD, mabey delay next movie too. Producers wil possible go for save and wil release it in September/october or November/December 2026. But even July 2027 is les then 6 years.

We have seen difrent fairytales elements in or around Daniel Craig era. Bond 26 more Alice in Wonderland, Roald Dahl, Hans and Grietje, Rat Player with a new Wolf and a bit of Rumpelstiltskin (Promosing you gold and if you know his name you wil win a price).

Group who is started by individual lyer (Pinocchio) and growing fast, is that not we like so much about Quantum try to be. Mabey with a bit of help of John Garder Sea Fire. If there use title i think there should change it bit name it Sea Of Fire. Moost known i like to see Dominic Greene and Camile returns, but atleast his words from QOS or DC Bond in NTTD about playing God should be basic for Bond 26 even with new actor as Bond and ''new?'' villian.

If there whant to use ''Shaken Not Stirred", ''Risico'' then it should be now.

Not only English but also another language: German, Spanish. Possible a song like NTTD did

Directer Author of all you pain:

Who knows about mixing up Fantasy with horror (and another gerne). The directer won't be Martin Campbell or Nolan. Somebody like Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland life action movie, Batman, Batman Returns) who has experience with playing with dolls. Guillermo del Toro (Who made his own version of Pinokkio/ Pinocchio) and Alfonso Cuarón (Harry Potter 3.). After i watched El orfanato, so before he made Jurassic World 2 for Universal i sugest J.A. Bayona as directer.

Guillermo del Toro, Park Chan-wook (Stoker) and Bong Joon-ho have talked with Barbara about NTTD. Del Toro had earlier some creatief difrence with Universal (who making Bond 26) about Crimson Peak and you can see a bit in final movie, but also made Pacific Rim movie with Warner (Making Bond 27/28). Two from the 4 i collected that i watched. The other Shape of Water i haven't seen yet and that also count for his Spanish movie (El laberinto del fauno). Or there will go for Danny Boyle (He not direct NTTD, but does not mean Eon not stil have him in there mind.) or somebody like Oliver Stone (Savages).

In a very visceral scene Bond dies, the film pauses for maximum effect, and then 007 wakes from a dream.

Bond plays Wordle each morning, but is often left angered or annoyed as May (can't we just use her a little bit ;) sometimes) or Moneypenny have guessed the word and spoil it for Bond using the 'wordle' word in a sentence when they see him.

A crossword as a like some sort of public message or spy cypher to decode would be a cool and playful scene, for sure. Bond gets orders from the NYT.

Eon and Amazon cast a new actor. They make 1-2 movies, productions are a nightmare, actor quits or ownership changes and we get another new actor by 2035.

-Bond will sleep with no more than one woman per movie anymore, and his sexual promiscuity will be significantly downplayed if not totally discarded.

-The next actor chosen to play Bond will be age 25-35, non-white, and relatively if not almost entirely unknown.

-Fans will be divided about Bond’s casting and the quality of the movies, but both will be a success with critics.

-The gun-barrel moment continues to be messed with, much to the chagrin of many.

-The next era will have a total of either 3 or 4 films.

-SPECTRE will be the main threat through the era.

-The tone of the movies is decidedly dark and gritty, perhaps more than we’ve ever seen before.

-The action sequences are going to be absolutely incredible in each film, and will be the most universally beloved aspect of them.

-Like Craig’s era, this one will be somewhat continuous rather than have a standalone approach, and it will end with Bond leaving the service but not dying.

-The era will take inspiration from the Matt Reeves Batman series, such as Bond starting off young but not at the very beginning of his career, and emphasizing Bond’s spying more like Batman’s detective work, as these things were both criticized to not feature in films enough in the past.

I predict nudity. A ton of nudity. 'Showgirls' will look like a school trip compared to B26.

Can’t tell if this is serious or not, but if so it would guarantee our first R-rated Bond!

The next film will reference AI in some way, whether it's Q's intelligent covert modem that hacks the villain's quantum computer, or the villain has a visual AI avatar that greets Bond upon him sneaking into the lair.

    - It'll be better than many of us fans expect and a majority of general audiences will have fun watching it.

Not sure if that's in the spirit of the thread but I hope that turns out to be true, haha.

I was not being serious, @FoxRox. ;) I'm pretty sure Bond films don't need nudity to get us excited.

Amazon surprise the fans by giving us very best duck in the form of two highly respected and knowledgeable Bond writers, who, upon returning, promptly begin brainstorming sessions.

Now that we're a wee bit into Bond 26's creation, I thought I'd chip into this thread. I'm not going to go as far as to give who exactly I think will be the next Bond, and most of these are very general and hopefully some obvious, but I'll put in a few. Many of these could be stupidly wrong in hindsight, and of course that's fine!

    - The story will involve Bond's career in the navy before being recruited by MI6, but it won't necessarily be an origin story, and it'll involve Bond working for MI6 or being 007 for a large portion of it.

    - The production will hire a mostly new crew/creative team, but will see the return of a handful of people who worked on the last Bond film, as well as one or two individuals who have worked long term on the modern Bond movies (ie. perhaps Linus Sandgren will return, and we may even see the return of Daniel Kleinman).

    - The story will involve AI, but will fundamentally emphasise how the villain manipulates or wants to attain such technology for their own aims rather than the inherent destructiveness of the technology itself.

    - An effort will be made to incorporate things we haven't seen as much in the Craig era - ie. Bond going undercover, Bond conveying his general knowledge/interests about random subjects etc.

    - Bond will sleep with at least two women.

    - Either the secondary or main villain - or indeed both - will be female.

    - It'll incorporate many of the traditional Bond tropes, but will be similar to CR or SF in the sense that it reinvents them for a modern film while deviating slightly from a strict, traditional formula.

    - Budget will be in the ballpark of $250 Million.

    - It will be successful in terms of box office based on its budget - $750 million or more.

    - It won't, however, be the highest grossing Bond movie adjusted for inflation, but it'll be close.

    - Critical reception will be strong, albeit with some recurrent criticisms, possibly about something like pacing.

    - Fans here will generally enjoy it, but many will have vocal criticisms.

    - The viewer demographics in the cinema will skew slightly younger on this one compared to Craig's last outing, but not by a very large amount.

    - It'll be compared by many casual viewers and fans to CR, with many preferring the latter.

    - It will have accusations of being woke or liberal in some ways initially, but this won't harm its overall performance.

    - We'll see a slight influx of younger users on this forum - between 21-30 - based on this and First Light.

    - The next Bond will be noticeably different from Craig's interpretation, but generally well received.

    - The next actor won't get a 'Craignotbond' reception but will have some critics/keyboard warriors criticising something about him initially.

    - A conscious effort will be made to give Bond a character arc in this one, possibly making him more three dimensional than we've seen him in previous stories.

    - The next Bond will be portrayed as young - 20s to early 30s - but may be played by an actor slightly older than the character is intended to be in the story, even if by a few years.

    - At least one story point seen in EON's later films will crop up in this one - could be Bond falling in love, getting betrayed, a villain from the past returning etc.

    - Yes, Bond will say 'Bond, James Bond'.

    - He'll order a martini.

    - He'll wear a tuxedo.

    - It'll be an original story but for eagle eyed fans there'll be noticeable aspects of Fleming in there.

Bond will sleep with two women, @007HallY ?!! I admire your optimism, lol.

I suppose one of his conquests could be a throwaway “love interest” a la TLD-woman-on-a-yacht in the PTS, and then later in the film, he couples with the leading lady.

I just thought they’d stick with one lady/film in the new era. But now that you’ve mentioned it, in this first film, I think I agree with you here.

That’s a good list, sir, and I think you’re safely in the ballpark with most of your ideas.

Well, we'll see ;) But thank you. I'm expecting curve balls, and I'd admit some of what I've said is very general. I am of the opinion no one can predict the future, but of course I'm happy to be impressed by a future film.

Given the fact that Amazon now owns the rights to the JB franchise and will submit to the rules of The New Order, the next movie will be filmed entirely in the U.S. to avoid tariffs. MI-6 has become a subsidiary of the CIA (aka God's Own Intelligence Service). Moneypenny, or any other character with positive connotations, will not be a person of colo(u)r, nor Q a queer person in any way any more. James Bond will be allowed to "bitch-slap" at least two women aka "Bond girls" and to dispose of them as he pleases. He will also use his licence to kill any person that might be somehow suspicious of being a baddie (for instance being on a boat in the Caribbean), just in case. He won't order a martini but switch to bourbon (saves effort to explain to the bartender if it is to be shaken or stirred), or to ICE tea. His official vehicle will be a Ford F-150. Not the electric kind, of course. Amazon will have a huge success in their home market with this.

Sorry for being sarcastic, even on a day like this. Mods, delete this if you wish. Had to let it out nevertheless.

Really, my friend? No matter how they're done? No matter in what Bond adventure it's wrapped in? ;) Seems a bit hasty even for you to completely renounce a new Bond film.

If it's any consolation my predictions could all be nonsense! And very likely many will turn out to be.
