He also was black 44 years ago. He's been black twice.
Age: 35
History: Head of Research
Position: Head of Tactical Simulations at MI6
I suppose most have picked up on this by now, but the 'Q' logo is the same as that on the Swatch x 007 Q watch from NTTD:
Love the test dummy in the corner of that clip with Dr. Tan.
I think we should call out someone being racist when they're being racist. We're not really interested in that sort of thing here, let's just talk about the game.
(Ironically, Bond is the only main character I can see announced so far who isn't being played by a British actor, along with Ms Roth)
Agreed.
Yep, same here. I can't see any logical reason to get offended at the casting here, and the game looks pretty good.
Better sound the woke alarm!!! X’D
I must admit I did not pick up on that at all! Well spotted. Did that logo appear anywhere else or just with the Swatch bits? Quite curious it's come back really.
Wouldn't it be wise to wait for the game to be released, play it (or not), and then comment on it (or not), especially if the best you can do right now is post remarks like this?
I'm confused. Where is it decreed that only white people can be British?
It stems from that idea of ethnicity and nationality being synonymous. That no matter how many generations a family of color have lived in a country, that they can never be truly British. Where your ancestors originated from takes more precedence than being born and raised. Some countries like Japan made that a law. You can’t be considered Japanese citizen unless you have a Japanese parent. Every country is different.
So this is going to be how they'll incorporate re-playing levels and some tutorial stuff, right?
Previously, I assumed the Iceland mission and 00 School would be the tutorial sections, but "Tactical Simulations" sounds a lot like a way to get back to previous locations, but have them play differently, Hitman-style. I personally think they could have just done that outside of the story/game logic and just done a separate entry in the main menu, but I don't mind it.
It does seem like a late addition to the game a bit though. Gemma Chan is a big name and from the 12 seconds we've seen so far, her character seems to be kind of off to the side a bit...
It's a good question. Could simply be an indoor simulation level much like the one from EON where you learn how to rappel and control the Q-Spider etc.
Racist in the same way as Tyler Perry, Spike Lee and Jordan Peele, yes. They have a preference for black people, just like I have a preference for white people.
Holy smokes Batman! That escalated quickly!
None of you guys are honest with yourselves. The vast majority of people on this forum are White guys like myself. You wouldn't be into James Bond like you are if he was played by Sidney Poiter, Jim Brown, Denzel Washington and Michael B Jordan. Be honest instead of continuing this 'Emperor with no clothes' nonsense.
First off - you probably shouldn’t go making assumptions like that about any of the members here - and quite frankly it’s none of your business what race the members on this forum are.
Usually I try to be as nice and courteous as possible with the discussions that I have on here - but this time I have no quibble in pointing out of much of a stupid statement that was. I certainly didn’t get into James Bond just because he’s white and I’m going to make a wild educated guess that none of the other members on this forum did either. Weak argument.
If you don’t like the way people are interacting with you then perhaps you should stop posting hateful rhetoric like your posts above - then people wouldn’t feel the need to call you out and correct your behavior.
